Hewkonian's argument is "Mahopac, NY"? That is OLD NEWS. I was THERE by the way, I actually heard the whole thing in context.
It was exactly like this quote (see next paragraph), only even "better" because it was spoken to an emotional lady who was practically in tears. She pulled on Bp. W's heartstrings and let me tell you -- he has them. You don't prefer Beethoven because you have no -- or even weak -- emotions. Let's just say I can relate personally.
+ABL agreed with +BW: "He exhorted them: Make every effort to have the Mass of St. Pius V, but if it is impossible to find one within forty kilometers and if there is a pious priest who says the New Mass in as traditional a way as possible, it is good for you to assist at it to fulfill your Sunday obligation."
The emotional lady already established at the beginning of her question that this was a "pious priest" who said the Novus Ordo reverently.
At worst, +W should have spoken with the lady privately later. It was at worst "imprudent" to make such personal (specific, non-general) advice during a public conference. THAT WAS THE BEST, FAIREST, MOST BALANCED TAKE from that controversial conference.
And NO we shouldn't be going to Novus Ordo Watch for their distorted hit-pieces either. We don't need to watch someone's chopped up sound bites, their out-of-context, distortions of the truth, twisted into a hit piece against +Williamson and/or the Resistance. That is exactly what we DON'T need -- at least if we're interested in the truth.
I'm going to leave up (what's left of) this thread, to demonstrate how cult-like Fr. Hewko's followers are. Fr. Hewko USED TO be a great priest. He said Mass at my chapel twice in 2013. But
unfortunately he fell in with Fr. Pfeiffer, and stayed there against common sense and prudence. If he had ONE fatal flaw it was IMPRUDENCE or following Fr. Pfeiffer. He was willing to ignore grave issues all around him, and that turned out to be his undoing. He underwent satanic influence, and I mean direct diabolical influence (Santeria, curses, obsession, etc.) which he STILL hasn't fully recovered from.
You don't spend years around a Santeria warlock and emerge from it a better man.
