ACCOUNT OF FACTS WHICH LED THE FAITHFUL FROM CHIHUAHUA TO BECOME THE FIRST GROUP OF LAYMEN OF THE SSPX IN THE WORLD TO RISE AGAINST THE BETRAYAL OF MENZINGEN.
June 1st 2012; the District Superior came to Chihuahua to address the faithful about the situation of the SSPX. During the meeting, he did not satisfy the doubts of the faithful regarding the serious events happening in the SSPX, especially the confrontation between the four bishops in their two letters published on May. He merely repeated the official information. The faithful, unhappy, abandoned the meeting before the end of the talk. The Priests of the priory had not approached the topic of the conversations with Rome either.
Father Cardozo, some days later, planning his visit to Chihuahua, learned that all the faithful of the Chapel of San José were warned of his upcoming visit of Sunday June 17th 2012
The prior summoned the person who warned the faithful about Fr. Cardozo’s visit. She told the prior that, as usual, she just relayed the message of a priest. The prior asked her to warn Fr. Cardozo about the permission he must get from the District Superior and the prior to visit the faithful.
On Sunday during the 10am Mass, the Prior preached for an hour or so, informing the faithful that Fr. Cardozo could not celebrate Mass in the chapel. He threatened with expulsion anyone who attended Mass, spoke, saw, wrote or had any communication with Father Cardozo, who was still a member of the SSPX. The faithful were shocked. After Mass, someone asked the prior if the District Superior commanded him to preach that sermon and he said yes.
Two parishioners asked the Prior where Father Cardozo’s Mass could be celebrated, he said “where he wants”. A parishioner replied, "If Father Cardozo cannot celebrate Mass in the house of God, he will do it in my home." So it was.
Most of the faithful chose not to return, especially the long-time members ... “This is not the FSSPX we have known for so long”.
Fr. Cardozo stayed at Chihuahua from the 17th to the 23rd of June. The first Mass celebrated was on the Feast of the Holy Trinity. The first Mass of the incipient resistance was attended by about 90 faithful. Some people reported that when they returned to the chapel, not wishing to lose the sacraments, they were interrogated in the confessional: "last confession, to whom confessed, where did they confess" In the end being told, they must accuse themselves of mortal sin for attending the Mass of Fr. Cardozo and they must promise not to return, to receive absolution!
Without warning, on June 21st, the door locks were changed in the Chapel preventing the entry to sacristans, florists, etc. to the Chapel and to the house of the Fathers.
The lady who received Father Cardozo in her house said: "On the morning of June 17th, I received a call that lasted 45 minutes; the Prior told me the sanction imposed by Fr. Trejo was my expulsion from the SSPX. I asked him which canons were violated, I asked the Prior for my sanction in writing.... I’m still waiting for it. The prior told me he would give it to me when Fr. Trejo returned from the Chapter. He told me the sanction against me was agreed in a meeting of priests."
On May 2013, after resisting bravely for a year without the Sacraments (only the Rosary), Bishop Williamson and Father Faure sent Father Trincado to the north of Mexico to take care of the faithful.
Fr. Trincado says: "Thanks to the resolution and fighting spirit of this brave faithful, new "Cristeros"; in Chihuahua the Tradition continues existing as Archbishop Lefebvre wanted it: absolutely intolerant to liberalism and to those seeking to make agreements with the traitor modernists; unambiguously, without cowardice, without false obedience, without secrecy or human cunning, and determined to fight to the last consequences against all the enemies of Christ the King.”
