  • I've never heard of the book or movie, under this title or "The Conflict".
What do you think of the film SJ?

It is inspired by the story of ABL.

Shows how the modernists used false obedience to promote the new religion after Vatican II.

Watch at 39:45 to see if you will like it (pretty sure you will).

  • My husband was mad about the ending though. You won't like it.
    Matthew 5:37

But let your speech be yea, yea: no, no: and that which is over and above these, is of evil.

  • Yeah, I didn't like the ending either.

  • True, but that is how they pushed it all through.

I know.  It's just too depressing.

Aww.  I was about to watch it.  It's too beautiful a day for something depressing.

  • Bought this DVD as a combo disc that also had a movie with Lee Majors at the check out at WalMart for a buck.  It was with all the old cartoons and black and white Tv shows.  It was factual yes but I didn't like it enough to watch it again.

  • I can barely hear it. Does anyone else find the sound on the low side?

Thanks for posting this. I wouldn't have known about it otherwise.

What return shall I make to the Lord for all the things that He hath given unto me?

  • I thank Sean Johnson for posting that link. I don't know why so many find it too depressing to watch again. I haven't seen that film for about 37 years. It was wonderful. Such good acting from some of the old greats, and to me, it really renews the fighting spirit.

Another wonderful thing I saw all those years ago that I happened upon on Amazon was Bill Buckley's "Firing Line" with Michael Davies, Msgr. Joseph Champlin and Fr. Malachi Martin. I post the link if any should wish to see it either for the first time or again.

  • Saw the whole movie. Yes the ending was depressing. The abbot lost
his faith in the Holy Sacrifice of the  Mass and in Jesus Christ.
The ending should not have depressing and should have been an
opportunity in advancing the Faith as Jesus real presence on the
Altar and a life of prayer.
We do not obey Superiors that orders you to believe in heretical and
condemned beliefs.  The Abbot should have stood his ground.
That was the way it was in 1973 and for a good long time before
and afterwards. The only way to have a Latin Mass was an
independent Priests such as Father Donahue at his Arcadia
and San Pedro Chapels, Father Frederick Schell, SJ in Garden Grove. CA.
I was advised by a Priest who was ordained in 1940 in the confessional
not to attend the Latin Mass because it was considered a Pagan
    ritual.

    Thanks, Sean

Its the way they rammed the Novus Ordo down our throats in the
sixty's and seventy's-- and too few were wise to them. It's exactly what
Fellay and Schmidberger are doing right now to ram the conciliar church down
the throat of traditionalists right now.
    Thanks for posting.
