In Fr. Rostand 2012 Christmas Appeal Letter, he said that their sspx.org website is: “…a beacon of timely news, information, and a repository of interesting articles.” And, “Our website averaged over 5,000 visitors each day in 2012! These visitors came to get information - to read and watch and listen to our reasons for holding fast to Tradition. Without our website, more than 5,000 people each day would be vulnerable to rumors and falsehoods spread by our detractors”.
Hmm… So, Fr. Rostand is saying that he is really impressed within this 2012 year of the SSPX crisis, that there is a lot of people traffic visiting, and they are getting there information from himself. However, as the SSPX leaders are refusing to let us know what is going on in their “new deal” with conciliar Rome, and we are obliged to seek the information elsewhere, here is some statistics, or algorithm, of the amount of traffic people are visiting to get information on Cathinfo.com v.s. the information on sspx.org.
On Alexa.com, this comparison is a recorded amount of visiting traffic between Cathinfo.com and sspx.org. It is certainly very interesting and relevant in this crisis of who is giving the "beacon of timely news and [True] information…".
The numbers speak for themselves.

Alexa Traffic Rank, Cathinfo.com has:

Wow. No wonder they are so worried about forums.

That is a HUGE difference !

I hate to break it to you, but those numbers aren't good.
With Alexa, the sites with the greater traffic have the lower score.
Look at Cathinfo's site info on Alexa and then compare the score to that of CNN or Drugereport and you will see what I mean.
EDIT: I just compared those numbers again... ouch.

Ok...
------------------------------------------------------------
quantcast.com has for cathinfo.com:
US rank 64,835
(Which shows): This site reaches approximately 21,367 U.S. monthly people.
--------------------------------------------------------------
quantcast.com has for sspx.org:
US rank 173,606
(Which shows): This site reaches approximately 6,810 U.S. monthly people.

I trust Cathinfo.com with sourced information any day of the week over Fr. Rostand right now.
Certainly, conversions are hoped for, for our dear SSPX leaders to have the humility to do the right thing...before the Majesty of God.

Sorry about that. It was my first time using Alexa.
If Alexa uses the numbers the way they do, then according to them, sspx.org has more visitors in their range. I wonder though, if it really is because of the unfortunate crisis and scandals they (sspx) has going on, compared to, say 2011?
Then lets look at Dici.org, the Official website of the SSPX Headquarters, on Alexa.
Alexa Traffic Rank
Global Rank 527,046
Rank in US 208,476
So then, Cathinfo.com has more visits (lower numbers) in comparison to Menzingen, the Main Headquarters of the SSPX.
And on Telesphorus' above link to quantcast.com, as already shown, Cathinfo.com certainly comes out with more people visiting for more information than the sspx.org.
As far as Dici.org, quantcast.com has:
US rank 71,999
(Which shows): This site reaches approximately 19,299 U.S. monthly people.
So what does this mean, hmm..., a lot of computers with a lot of "brain power". I will stay with the "ole fashioned" Traditions of Truth...it does a soul good.

Well, indeed, because it's comparing apples with oranges, or even worse.
I suppose that "Alexa" does not cover most of us regular Cathinfo users here. Because, who of you got the Alexa snooping toolbar installed in your browsers and so are counted by the Alexa snooping service?
From 10 Catholic Internet users I know of, not a single one has got the Alexa toolbar installed. Why would they anyway? Not enough snooping already? So whatever websites these Catholic friends of mine visit, they're not recorded by Alexa. Alexa is just measuring the Lemming masses, not Catholics usually.
So, Fr. Rostand says he got about 5 000 "visitors" every day, by looking at his server statistics. This is a real number. However very likely he's meaning 5 000 hits, not users (by visiting a website multiple times a day, you can produce multiple hits depending on how the server counts. And with a dynamic IP you produce multiple hits on most websites all the time).
Anyway, we can only compare this number of actual hits with the number of hits the Cathinfo server gets. And only Matthew can tell this real number.
Let's be careful with numbers, because most of them aren't real in our modern times.

Majority of todays Catholics are following Vatican II, but can it be said that they're following the true Faith? People whom are looking for the "truth", will find it, no matter who's winning this numbers war.
I always go to St. Athanasius: "Even if Catholics faithful to Tradition are reduced to a handful, they are the ones who are the true Church of Jesus Christ."

Mea Culpa, very well said.

Fr. Rostand most likely didn't look up the numbers himself. Probably whoever is managing the website gave him the numbers. Also, as you say, Fr. Rostand said "visitors" so we don't really know exactly what he is referring to. Maybe it was the unique IP addresses number? A dynamic IP would still be the same for at least one browsing session so unique IP addresses are a reasonable approximation of "visitors". My guess is that Alexa is not that far off. The resistance is a small minority and not everyone in the resistance is reading CathInfo. There are a lot more people reading sspx.org (even the Rorate Caeli motu proprio-ists read sspx.org). If sspx.org opened a chat room the traffic would probably make CathInfo look even more like small potatoes. But as someone just mentioned, who cares what the traffic is compared to sspx.org? No matter how few we are, we need to keep the faith!

Maybe, maybe not.
Angelqueen was never that big.
There aren't that many live forums available for trads, people find their way to forums like Angelqueen or this one one because of the lack of alternatives.
Or they are hooked in to a pseudo-trad website like FE.

As long as both websites are trying to get the word out to the Catholic faithful, then it's okay with me.
