Sean Johnson has some great news for us --

Fr. Chazal just dropped this nuclear hydrogen bomb in an email to me (published with permission):

The Capuchins of Morgon wrote a 200 page treatise which they sent to Bishop Fellay and all SSPX superiors (before the June meeting of superiors), declaring they will reject any accord with unconverted Rome, and moreover, that if Bishop Fellay continues to refuse to ordain their candidates, they will avail themselves of Bishop Faure.

I did not know that Bishop Fellay was still refusing to ordain Morgon's candidates. In fact, I thought a couple years back, they made a tour of the USA with the SSPX (i.e., The SSPX was showing off its new pet).

Nevertheless, what follows below is Fr. Chazal's account.

Meanwhile, I continue to try to secure a copy of Morgon's treatise.

"Dear Sean,
The treatise is big, I saw it on the desk of a sspx confrere, and it is against the canonical agreement.
Perhaps, but it is just a guess, Fr Joseph* had a hand in it, but it is endorsed by Fr Antoine.
Bishop Fellay received it in his Chapter of Martigny and closed his eyes.
For my part, I wrote to them that the deal is already effective at the canonical level, in a secret symbiotic way.
But it remains the thesis of the treaty, (quite huge, 100 pages, small print, two columns), is our position, and looks to be aimed at that Fr Celier's secret treaty of Archbishoplefebvrology, that poisoned the minds of so many superiors some years back.
Moreover, Fr Stehlin is unilaterally taking over the Militia Immaculatae, which was run by the Capuchins (a move reminiscent of the menzingerial moves against Avrille).
Then, Morgon has issued the ultimatum that if their candidates continue to be barred from the priesthood, Morgon will call Bishop Faure, whom they trust.
And there are plenty of other incidents, and the third order is very favorable to the Resistance.
My own Brother, Brother Nicholas, says he totally agrees with our position.
Unfortunately, I could not find the time to visit him.
It will all be done the Capuchin way, I trust.
Suaviter ac fortiter.
You can publish this if you want.
In Iesu et Maria,
Francois Chazal+"

PS: Just for clarification, the "Fr Joseph" that Fr. Chazal refers to in his email is Fr. Joseph (de Cacqueray).

  • Deo gracias indeed!

I would like to make a statement in regards to all the monasteries that have answered to Grace, and have made a heroic stand against the atrocities committed by Bp Fellay by getting cozy with Rome.

They are ALL supporting the bishops of the "Resistance!"
I believe this to be of great importance, traditionally the monasteries have been the greatest protectors of our Faith.  Please, for Heaven's sake, wake up Boston!   And all those who plant seeds of discord against the "Resistance" bishops, please consider the consequences of your own personal attacks against these bishops. Yes, they are human and are subject to weakness and fault.

I believe that we (faithful) must follow the example of these most valiant monasteries by supporting, without reservation, regardless of our petty personal opinions.  "When the Shepard is struck, the sheep will scatter."  Why do we the sheep want to scatter ourselves further by our own faults?

  • Has there been an official pronouncement? This email from Fr Chazel does not say that they have joined the Resistance movement but that they have issued an ultimatum.
O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!
    Praised be Jesus ad Mary!

  • Good news, and certainly necessary to help discourage
the SSPX from reaching accord with Modernist Rome,
however I will once again repeat my much-maligned opinion
    here, as it is necessary.

I do not believe +Fellay, or any other future titular head
of the Society will ever reach accord with Rome.

That is because Rome is moving so quickly and so obviously
toward becoming non-Catholic, that the SSPX will rather
seek to lead the formal schism that is rapidly approaching.

Female ordained deacons are coming. Female priests will
follow. gαy "blessings" will happen, and more formally
    declared Universalist teaching.

SSPX has the ability to absorb, and the precedence to
inherit the Catholic Church in all its fullness when the
real schism happens, and Cardinals, then a Pope from
her ranks whom millions of Catholics will recognize could
    be the Society's destiny.

Mr. Snowball's opinion given above is nothing if not reasonable.  The problem is that our Catholic religion denies that objective reality is reasonable.  If it were, then the Fall of the human race could never have occurred in the first place and our actual human history would not consist of the innumerable spills and thrills of our history in which in each and every generation good and evil have had it out much like two scorpions fighting to the bitter end in a bottle.  Sorry, but such is the actual reality of this our own dramatic and severely epic space-time continuum.

The way things are is the most noble and aristocratic possibility.  Evidently God is exceedingly fond of maximum nobility with its concomitant qualities such as divine beauty, astounding heroism and considerable excitement.  Hence however much we may crave dull bourgeois contentment, in truth we simply can not have it.  Neither good nor evil has any interest in such possibilities for the human race.  We humans are not destined to be farm animals.

Therefore this lowly Franciscan dares to predict that Mr. Snowball's perfectly reasonable expectation will never come to pass.  Not in this world at any rate.  Instead an epic scenario must unfold:  Bishop Fellay is indeed an apostate, as the more heroic patterns of this world would require and apostates are not ruled by reason but by the hatred of historic Catholicism that led them to become apostates to begin with.  Apostates are instruments of evil who must rather mechanically react against Christian goodness and lack the ability to proceed according to any real or existing reasonable logic.

Indeed, the current events in Rome are anything but logical or intelligent.  They reveal an irrational fanaticism that does anything to spite Our Lord and His many triumphant achievements.  The Catholic view of history as apocalyptic and a divine comedy in which good must conquer evil, but only in the most glorious and heroic manner.  As is said, the most glorious destiny is to resurrect after having been torn to shreds in the most heroic combats.

Such is our actual Roman Catholic Christian destiny.  However much we may crave a destiny of reasonable bourgeois comfort, we can not have it.  Not now and not ever.

Best for us to humbly accept God's will and be the immeasurably glorious divine nobility of Creation that Our Lord has intended the Roman Catholics to be.

The Catholic church and its proper theology has always maintained
that objective reality is reasonable. Aquinas ?
I don't follow your logic at all.
The "way things are" are not noble at all; although they are
not yet to the point of full schism, in the sense that every
Catholic in the world would know of the schism and be required
to choose which Pope to recognize.

  • This issue is A LOT more complicated and dense than just an order "joining" the "resistance," whatever that means. From what my family in France told me this order has had issues with all 3 of the remaining SSPX bishops. I believe Bishop Bernard Tissier met with them very recently (a few months ago) when he visited France. My family doesn't know the details but apparently the issues are a lot more complex than just simply being concerned about an agreement with Rome.

    Utterly friggin delusional !

This sort of cultish thinking, Eg.

"the sspx is the church " & " no salvation outside the sspx"

Often thought, but not often spoken out loud; by many society priests And layfolk, is a major reason why + Felley and Co. have gotten away with what they have already.

    I give your delusion a,

    " snowballs chance in ...."

Sorry to be so offensive , but do you realize what you just implied ?
