  • I only interacted with Caminus a few times when he was here, but I thought that apart from a tendency to fly off the handle every now and then he was on the whole a sensible and quite intelligent poster.

"Never will anyone who says his Rosary every day become a formal heretic ... This is a statement I would sign in my blood." St. Montfort, Secret of the Rosary. I support the FSSP, the SSPX and other priests who work for the restoration of doctrinal orthodoxy and liturgical orthopraxis in the Church. I accept Vatican II if interpreted in the light of Tradition and canonisations as an infallible declaration that a person is in Heaven. Sedevacantism is schismatic and Ecclesiavacantism is heretical.

The problem is Liberalism is a decease on the mind, it inflicts serious wounds on the intellect and that is the reason why you can see a very "intelligent" person miserably failing on grasping basic principles, although they can still be very bright on some or even many other areas or subjects.

To be a good Catholic one won't exactly need to be intelligent (in the modern sense of the word) but a striver of humbleness and holiness.

But the foolish things of the world hath God chosen, that he may confound the wise; and the weak things of the world hath God chosen, that he may confound the strong.
    1 Corinthians 1:27

  •               Chronic Liberal-itis Disease (advanced stages).

Primary symptom: Detachment of the intellect from reality.

Secondary symptoms: Self love, pleasure, fantasy seeking behaviors.

Tertiaty symptoms: Exaggerated emotions: e.g., feelings of ecstasy, love with displays of hugging, kissing and goofy smiling,
accompanied by open hostility towards Catholic doctrines, tradition and religious piety.
"Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it underfoot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Our Lord Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor but a destroyer."  St. Francis of Assisi

  • I was always a little befuddled with Caminus.  I certainly enjoyed his posts but didn't quite know where he was coming from.

I also IM'd him asking who that is in his avatar.  If anyone here knows, please tell me.

Now, is Caminus an SSPX guy who thinks they should join the novus ordo?  Or is he a novus ordite who thinks the SSPX should join the Catholic Church?  (This last concept is outright repulsive to me.  With how fast and loose the novus ordites have been with the Deposit of Faith, I am hardpressed to consider any of the post Vatican II aparatus as the Catholic Church)

Who is Caminus as a man?

  • Caminus is an SSPXer who mistakenly believes the Society should join the conciliar church should they be presented a "decent offer". He erroneously believes Archbishop Lefebvre would have accepted what the Society was offered.

Another part of his problem is that he doesn't seem to put much stock in the Freemasonic infiltration of the Church. If he truly understood the ʝʊdɛօ-Masonic infiltration of the Catholic Church, I doubt he would approve of a deal with modernist Rome.
Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.

  • Caminus strikes me as a very bright guy so if he doesn't see the infiltration then, as I see it, he's deliberately ignoring it.

All the clues point in only one direction.

If we are to accept the novus ordo, then we are to accept that the three major world religions worship the same god.  This is a contradiction that can't be overcome.  I didn't say someone couldn't put forward silly arguments designed to trick the ignorant (I am specifically referring to Fr. hαɾɾιson's "faulty TV antenna" analogy).

If we are to accept the new church, under the aspirations that a small group like the SSPX is going to act as a decontaminant, well, that is a form of positive thinking that is clearly vainglorious.

If we are to follow Our Lord, then we can't follow those who either outright negate Our Lord or add their own words to Him and claim them as His.

  • I just now read Caminus's opening questions (not yet replied to) to SeanJohnson. Each one is shamelessly loaded with unwarranted assumptions of the "are you still beating your wife?" genre! I hope that SJ will call Caminus out on each of them rather than engage the combat with one arm tied behind his back.

  • I see the need for a "commentary" thread -- basically the talk in the bleachers.
