Has his cause been investigated for canonization?

Well, there shouldn't be much trouble finding miracles to
approve, but the problem is with these cases, if the priest's
life wasn't a kind of testimony to liberalism, it's going to be
hard to get much interest or action out of Rome.  

But if enough people were to voice their devotion, and if it
can be shown that there has been an enduring following (they
used to say "cult" but that word has a new meaning today),
then it's possible something might move forward.  They did
not have much choice with Padre Pio, because of his worldwide
interest.  The Vatican would have had more problems by
NOT canonizing him than they would if they did.

Come to think of it, how many of the hundreds of saints
that JPII canonized had a history of miracles like Fr. Mac
does?  So why didn't he make that wave of action?  There
must be a reason.  

As the media is completely controlled by the Jєωιѕн freemasons, the life-stories of holy priests like Fr. Mac have been swept under the rug, in hopes the Faithful will forget about them.  These evil-doers are highly successful, but will not triumph in the end.  Our Lady will certainly see to it!

The beauty of this forum is that those who know/knew these saintly persons can share with us.  Although Fr. Mac died forty years ago, many people out there knew him and could testify to the impact he made in their lives spiritually.  The majority kept the Faith because of his instruction and example.  Knowledge gives all the chance to emulate the exceptional virtues shown to us by Fr. Mac and others.

Fr. Mac is called by those who knew him "the Padre Pio of the West," and for good reason.  One day his story will be as well known as is the life of Padre Pio.  

The impact he has made in the lives of my family is substantial, spiritually.  Just another definition of "resistance."  My vote is we shouldn't give them a choice on this Saint .

 

Who is still alive that knew Father Mac?  He died over 100 years ago.

I failed to read of the Canadian Fr. Mac before my post.  Glad to hear of this holy priest with the same nickname.  Many good, holy and unrecognized men came from Ireland.  Thanks for linking the information.

It looks like there might be a rivalry in the making going on here:  
There are two claimants to the title of "FATHER MAC."

My wife, daughter and I did along with a family friend. Nothing was planned by the local parish, and there was no evidence of other visitors.

Perhaps readers can make a spiritual visit.

The posted article on Father's life was in a book written by an Orangeman, but as the author stated, this gives an unbiased account. Given the numerous miracles described, I wonder how many more a Catholic might have described.

Interesting also that the local Bishop asked him to stop the miracles so as not to offend Protestants, and when Father continued, he was re-assigned to a more remote parish - sound familiar?

Father had a reputation for sticking to spiritual matters and avoiding much of earthly pleasures. Human respect was not a failing of his.

He did cure Protestants, but sometimes did assign a penance of joining the Church.

If he were alive today, I think the Resistance would have another priest.

Just think: and Orangeman would have omitted them ALL if he
thought he could get away with it!  The fact he included some
is proof that he was afraid those were the BARE MINIMUM of
what he could have mentioned.  

I can't help but wonder how long it's been since they had to
refill the grave because of people taking 3rd class relics by
samples of the dirt that covers him?  And every time they add
more, it's like holy water, so long as there is at least that much
dirt already there, the extra dirt you add becomes equally blessed.

Stop the miracles so as not to offend Protestants!  

I just read a bunch of comments on a dictionary website where
atheists are saying that when someone says "God bless you!" to
them, they are OFFENDED!  And a California teacher is telling her
class that no one is allowed to say "God bless you" in her classroom.
Other comments actually applaud that nonsense.

So this idiocy started 100 years ago in Canada -- probably before
that, and in England or Germany.  Speaking of Germany, the
linked website above is for "gesundheit" and what it means.  
Apparently atheists prefer it because all it means is "health to you"
and implies NOTHING religious or about God or blessing.  All those
wild comments could be a whole thread here on CI.  But our
members would never say those things.  Sometimes it's good just
to keep track of the heresies and how to respond to them.  
Heretics hate it when you make light of their false gods, or of their
hatred of anything to do with God.
