  • No, there's nothing ridiculous about it.
Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.

Cardinal Archbishop Wants His Seminary Run by the SSPX

Cardinal Ranjith wants his seminary run by the SSPX
Kardinal Ranjith will sein Priesterseminar der Piusbruderschaft übergeben › Katholisches:

The Archbishop of Colombo, Albert Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith Patabedinge would be ready to entrust the management and training of the seminarians of his Archdiocese to the SSPX. Such a step, according to the Cardinal would be possible if the SSPX is accepted and canonically erected. The The Cardinal expects this project to improve training of future priests. The reports come from the Roman Rite website Messa in latino.

The District Superior of the SSPX in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, Father Benoît Waillez made this known in a sermon last Sunday. He stressed that the motives, concerns and arguments of tradition begin to spread in the Catholic Church.

Cardinal Ranjith Patabedinge was appointed by the Pope as Secretary of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments of the Roman Curia. Since June 2009 he is the Archbishop of Colombo in Sri Lanka and was made Cardinal in November 2010.

Well then what's he waiting for? He should extend the invitation to the Society to come teach at his seminary.

  • Sorry, but I can't help but see the irony here.

The principal mark of life in the SSPX is that their priests are

    OVERWORKED AND UNDERPAID.

Now, how do you take overbooked priests who don't have time to sleep at
night and give them another job to do, like run a seminary, too?

Let alone the fact that the seminary they would be asked to run is set up
and ostensibly plans to continue to train priests to say the bastardized,
Protestant/Masonic Novus Ordo liturgy --- would the SSPX be brought
in to train seminarians for that purpose?

    Give me a break.

And don't tell me to go to McDonald's.  :clown:

  • Well, looks like two options. Roll up their sleeves, go into the midst of the wolves and fight to take back the Church. As we are already seeing, there are in fact those in the upper realm of the Hierarchy who welcome the SSPX. (See the Ranjith thread and while you are there listen to the crickets. I suppose on a forum where 99% of those posting want to tar and feather +Fellay don't know what to say about that)

And of course the other option is let the wolves have the Church and NOT get in there and help the orthodox clergy retake it.

+Fellay may be many things in the minds of the hard hearted, but he certainly isn't a coward like those who tuck their tails and submit to the will and rules of their local cult compound's daddy warbucks. Thank goodness all SSPX chapels aren't that far gone.

Without doing a search, tell us what you know of Cardinal Ranjith. Do you even think before you spew your venom ?

Satan must be very pleased with this forum lately.

What a joke this place has become. We have bozos like this guy doing the work of the devil ...........

.................... but we have to slam clergy like Fellay and Ranjith.

  • If Bp. Fellay is so impeccable in his judgment and management as his followers paint, why is the SSPX in such disarray?

  • Notwithstanding how this is all going to turn out, what is the formal process of removing a bishop?

The pot calls the kettle black? Facts is facts, fella. Look at history.

What happened in 2006 when the Institute of the Good Shepherd, headquartered in Bordeaux, was established for 5 erstwhile SSPX priests?

Or don't you know about that?

What did +Williamson say in regard to the prospects for the entire Society based on these facts of history?

Or have you forgotten that too?

If you don't know, don't care, or can't be bothered to think, then
you have no foundation to pass judgment on the words of someone who does.

Or did you simply misspell the word, "Sane?"

Now this is a far more practical question.

It seems an emergency general session may be required, in advance of the 6-year mid-term session slated for July, if I'm not mistaken. But I'm shooting from the hip here. Others on this forum are better informed....

Nobody here has ever said anything about "impeccable judgement" regarding Bp. Fellay.

Further, it is highly doubtful that there are Bp. Fellay "followers" here.  Mtthew made it quite clear years ago that Cathinfo is has a spirit of love and loyalty to Bishop Williamson!

  • I see Patricius (who appears pro-agreement) is taking issue with the attack on Bishop Fellay. What about the ad hominem attacks on Michael Hoffman and Michele Renouf on his forum? It was so bad Mr Hoffman had to contact Ignis Ardens with possibility of legal action.

Attack his decisions by all means, but Catholics should lay off the ad hominems - and at least until we see for 100% what is going to happen. Because, even now, no-one knows.
