In a May 2003 interview with La Nef, Bishop Rifan spoke of the Apostolic Administration's relations with the Society of St Pius X as follows:
From Wikipedia:
We have tried to be as friendly as possible with the SSPX and its superiors, but after we had informed them that we had serious reasons for continuing our contacts with Rome, which they did not intend to keep up, they began to criticize us severely, attempting also to dishonour us by putting in doubt our intentions and trying to create divisions among our faithful. After our recognition by the Holy See, the SSPX leadership removed our name from the lists of traditional Masses and began to foster Masses in the areas where we celebrate. Does that mean that the traditional Mass is good only when it is cut off from the Hierarchy? But thank God our faithful distinguish between love for the traditional Mass from the evil attitude that makes the traditional Mass a banner to wave against the Hierarchy.[5]
The Society of St Pius X and other traditionalist groups have reproached Bishop Rifan for concelebrating Mass according to the revised rite on 28 May 2011.[6] Bishop Rifan has stated in the past that he accepts the validity of the Mass celebrated according to the present rite used by the majority of priests of the Latin Rite, and denied allegation that he celebrated it before the video circulated from 28 May 2011.

Am I the only one that could see CERTAIN LEADERS IN THE PRESENT DAY saying these same words today (or after the deal is made).
Recent docuмents from Menzingen and and the above words from +Rifan are two birds of a feather.

The prodigal son will feel an irresistible compunction to repay his father for being received so generously. He will go out of his way to prove his newly-found loyalty by going after former colleagues with 'schismatic' and rebellious attitudes. His mission will afterall have the sanction of Rome!

Could it be that, in over-estimating his support, Bishop Fellay has simply "outed" himself as not in line with the mission of the SSPX, and will feel the heat for his deviation in the form of repurcussions put in motion by the 3?

Dear Seraphim,
Yes. This is very significant. I think that he did overestimate his support.
Or, rather, that he underestimated the level of opposition that he has stirred up.
Now the Vatican will possibly not allow him to go back into the conciliar church, because they want as many sspx as
possible to follow him.
And they will have calculated that not enough will actually do so.
So they may postpone the whole devious plan.
Then they will try to smooth it all over with some charade.
Do not trust any of the main players in all of this.
They are ALL on the same side.
The bad side.
