  • The Bishops of the Resistance, with Archbishop Viganò as an ally, stand resolutely against the errors of the Liberal Conciliar Church of Vatican II. Their mission is to defend the Sacred Tradition of the Catholic Church, faithfully adhering to the Traditional Roman Rite and preserving the true Catholic priesthood. Following in the footsteps of Archbishop Lefebvre and Bishop de Castro Mayer, and upholding the original stance of the old SSPX, we and the Bishops continue to stand firm in the battle for the true Faith and the salvation of souls.

From left to right: Bp. Richard Williamson, Bp. Jean-Michel Faure, Bp. Dom Tomás de Aquino OSB, Bp. Gerardo Zendejas, Bp. Giacomo Ballini, Bp. Michał Stobnicki, Bp. Paul William Morgan & Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò

  • Are these your own words, MJ, or are you quoting one of the bishops or priests of the Resistance? You had me excited for a moment when I read "from left to right" - I thought you must have had a group photo of all those bishops... not likely we'll ever see that.

I just realized he was listing there coat of arms.  I was hoping for a picture, too.

  • Oh… … oh who cares!?! :laugh1:
"Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it underfoot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Our Lord Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor but a destroyer."  St. Francis of Assisi

  • It would be good to see a photo of Archbishop Vigano with the Resistance bishops, but there's no actual photo provided. And therefore, no proof at all that +Vigano has any affiliation at all with the Resistance bishops.
"It is licit to resist a Sovereign Pontiff who is trying to destroy the Church. I say it is licit to resist him in not following his orders and in preventing the execution of his will. It is not licit to Judge him, to punish him, or to depose him, for these are acts proper to a superior."

I think you'd have to call Fr. Chazal and Bishop Williamson liars in order to assert that, and/or it all depends on what you mean by "affiliation".  There's no real formal organization to speak of, just kind of a moral "we're on the same page" mentality, and I think +Vigano is basically on the same page as The Resistance, with the exception of his more recent declaration that Jorge is an Antipope.  It is my understanding from a Resistance "insider" that some of the legacy Resistance are fine with that, whereas others are not.  I don't believe Bishop Williamson is one to have too much of an issue with it, and if any one person's opinon might "represent" the Resistance, I believe it would be his.

It's the OP of this thread that infers an affiliation. Did you read all of it? I used the word "affiliation," but what other word would be better to describe what the OP asserted?

The OP included +Vigano on the list of who is in the [non-existent] photo of the Resistance bishops.

  • In one of Bishop Williamson's interviews, maybe the one with Fr. Nix, the bishop mentions that he has visited the Archbishop at least once and writes to him.
