Apparently Fr. Jean-Michel Faure  (on March 19) and possibly Fr. Innocent Marie (of Avrille).

    Excommunications will likely follow.

  • I hope it is true. I think it is interesting that this news would come from Rorate Caeli. Why that site?

  • About time too - presuming Rorate's account is true.

Let us hope some of the spirit of 1988 can be recovered.

  • I don't like the tone of Rorate's post. Sounds too over the top and not enough real reporting on the reasoning behind Williamson's supposed consecration.

  • I wonder what his reasons are, Fr. Faure at 73 years old is not a young man.

    What a joke.
We conclude logically that religion can give an efficacious and truly realistic answer to the great modern problems only if it is a religion that is profoundly lived, not simply a superficial and cheap religion made up of some vocal prayers and some ceremonies...

If his health were to falter, he will have the power to consecrate successors. Which may indeed be the long term plan in some fashion.

Good news travel fast! I hope he consecrates enough bishops. "Excommunicated" from what? Apostasy? Any cardinal not going along with Francis' attacks on doctrine (come October or sooner) may also end up "excommunicated"?

If ABL had not consecrated the four bishops, where would we be now? Desperate times call for desperate measures and the good bishop is stepping up to the plate. May God bless H.E.
    Hope it's true!

Probably because Menz sent it to Rome at the first whisper, so Francis could get the excommunications ready.

Could it be because they are an SSPX outlet?
Possibly because they want to make it known that +W's excommunication is imminent in order to scare off supporters. The article also leaves out pertinent details such as numbers, and that Fr Faure was ABL's original choice for consecration over +F. They also make no mention of why loyal SSPX faithful left to join the resistance- they would much rather the resistance be painted as nutters following a nαzι sympathizer.

My sentiments precisely. They have shown that they have the time to carefully construct their posts when they deal with various topics, especially Volpi and the FFI. They could have spent one more minute putting in the details that would represent the truth of the matter--even if they may not agree with the Resistance.

I have seen that repeated over and over by various posters on here and elsewhere but so far (as I have seen) no one has posted any proof or source for that rumor (that Fr. Faure was ABL's initial choice).  Can anyone state where this story started, or a credible source to verify it?
