Bishop Williamson Mass and Conference - Houston, TX

Bishop Williamson will be offering Mass at Stella Maris Chapel (outside Houston, TX), on Monday, May 23, at 6:30 pm, followed by a meal and a conference.

Stella Maris Chapel
1131 Delaney Rd
La Marque, TX 77568

If anyone is within driving distance, you should try to make it. We can turn this into a little CathInfo "IRL meet-up". I'm going to be there.

I think anything under 20 hours (one-way) should be reasonable and do-able for most families, right? Or maybe just those south of Alaska?

I wonder if he'll address some of the scurrilous attacks made by the Boston, Ky crowd. The " sheep staling Puerto Rican" type stuff...it's painful to see Pfeiffer & Co. fly off the rails, crash and burn.

Matthew, do you have any details for the other locations in the US that Bp. Williamson will be visiting? It would be greatly appreciated.

I think the good Bishop is above that kind of polemics. Certain actions shouldn't be dignified with a response, at least for those with a certain dignity (for example, a bishop). Also, +Williamson knows that it won't achieve anything.

I, on the other hand, am driven crazy by craziness like we've seen coming out of Pfeifferville, and I can't help myself. Even if it's a waste of time, even if it's hopeless, I don't have the patience to be silent about it.

An earthy layman like me can get his hands dirty with this stuff, but it's probably better if priests and bishops stay focused on souls and the big picture.

I haven't been provided with a master list, unfortunately.

I think you're still used to Boston KY which has a strong central "SSPX style" authority.

+Williamson, on the other hand, is going for the loose network of independent priests/chapels.

So he respects the judgment of the individual priests/coordinators who know the local situation better than he does.

So he is leaving the decisions related to "event promotion" to each individual chapel. Any and all of them are welcome to contact me, post it themselves on CathInfo, or use any other means of promotion for that matter. Some might prefer to limit promotions to their local e-mail list or phone network/word of mouth.
