  • I especially like the black and white of the Archbishop and young Father Williamson smiling.
Can anyone copy those and post them here?  I'd love to print them off.

My digital ineptitude is showing. Does this show a picture of Bp. W. eating a drowned, treacled slice of apricot pie?

If so, it was taken June 9, 2014. Can you please photoshop me? I was discharged from the hospital after emergency surgery at 9:00 AM on June 8. I went home, made the pie, got very little rest and drove from NYC to NJ.
Editing you out would take a few hours at least, so is it sufficient just to crop the image?

  • Yes, that’s even better!

Is drowning one’s pie in milk and coating it in sugar how Britons normally eat their fruit pie?

While I can't see the sugar, this looks good to me.

The sugar is in the glass container with the spoon in it. I saw H.E. add it in. I guess he had a sweet tooth!

  • Maybe he's spent too much time in America. I hear stories about exchange students coming to America from Europe, and they return much heavier because of the sweeter and tastier food we have here. I imagine he'd splurge a bit on special occasions with guests. Obviously he's not overweight. I knew a priest who is quite thin, who would eat an almost scandalizing amount at a restaurant with friends, but he quite likely fasted to a great extent during the week. It's good to relax on occasion; a spring can get weak if always stretched.

  • I’m sure Bp. W. did plenty of fasting, but I suspect he was one of those much to be envied persons who weighs the same no matter what!  They have a fast metabolism. My Dad was like that. He’d eat like a horse and never gain weight. If he did perchance go up a little according to the scale, he’d cut back a little for a few days and he’d be back to normal.
I gain 10 lbs. by watching a cooking show on TV.

  • Some good pictures if anyone knows how to slow it down and take screen shots.
