His Excellency is in fine form with this lecture.
The argument against women in choir and the like is perfectly illustrated at the Mass I for pastoral reasons still attend for now (I pray I truly am not committing indultery but being a single old wise fool there is not a family to scandalize by attending). The women, and one in particular usually drowns out everyone else in the mixed choir. This was made most disturbingly manifest at a recent low Mass where there was pro and recessional singing of Christmas hymns, and at the offertory. Argh! Low Mass=sine cantu!!!!!!!!!!
Alas the High Mass doth not afford a basso profondo voice as does a traditional Divine Liturgy ergo this ole fool is very torn when it comes to participation in liturgical singing in my present situation.
I will also take a shot across the bow, for as His Excellency most forcefully remonstrated, a woman/lady should not be in charge of educating men in a public setting.
I was aghast to see this occurring in a SSPX high school, the one where a certain bishop recently gave a conference where upon certain members of this forum went to great lengths to transcribe for the multis if not omnes.
Heu mihi.....get me back to a monastery despite my aged curmedgeonedness.....
