I would advise everyone to be very careful giving that information to anonymous posters even if it is only confirmations and the username sounds very innocent, "Devil is in the detail". Nothing personal.

Good point.

If someone signs up for CathInfo just to ask me for the info -- they're not going to get it. They'd have to put themselves out a bit more (long e-mail, phone call etc.) to explain why they signed up for a (new?) account just to ask for the address.

Suspicious at best.

Just an update --

The event is still on -- and looking very good.
Looking at the RSVPs so far, it looks like it's going to be a success.

Interestingly, it probably won't be a Solemn High Mass. It will be a Sung Mass though.

The choir will be different. Instead of a young ladies' polyphonic choir, it will be me and at least one other man singing as a mens' schola.

There will be ALMOST as many clerics as there was at the CT conference. 3 clerics this time, vs. 4 up north. That's because the Dominicans won't be here.

It looks like we're going to have a lot of children at this one.

And I'm personally going to record everything and post it online. I have about 80% more storage capacity on my main tablet than last time. I completely wiped my tablet to squeeze every spare MB out of it. And if that one runs out, I have my "old faithful" ancient Android tablet that can record several hours more, albeit in less-than-HD quality.

How many candidates do you have for confirmation?

I just want to add something to this thread, as a postscript.

Everyone who wanted to be there was there.

I received e-mails/PMs from X people, and those X people all received the address. And of those people, I think most of them ended up going -- I met many of them at the conference.

So as far as I know, no one was turned away from this conference. No one can say, "Hey, I have a niece in the area, and she would have loved to go! Why didn't you make it more public", etc.

A wise man told me that sometimes a person will complain and make a big fuss, "Hey, you're not making this conference public enough!" and you can shut them down by just saying, "Do you want to go? Are you going?" and then they're like, "Um....errr...aaahhh...no."

Well then, what's the problem?

"Err....aahhh.....mmmm....*cough*....umm....."

I thought so. Just wanted to make trouble. I see.

I normally don't respond to myself, but I want to clarify about something.

Tradcatgirl WAS given the info, and she went to the conference!

Also, a couple others made a show of good faith (sent me an e-mail) and went to the conference.

Again, I can say that no one was "screened out" in this case.
