There was a big shakeout there from 2012-2014 following this event and the introduction of the 1980s ordained monseigneur. Other shocking things were said at the Holy Name meetings in 2012: "All things equal, you can fulfil your Sunday obligation at the indult." Fr Goldade's tenure was relatively short compared to his predecessor and successor (3 years vs 10+ years). Unfortunately now it bears its marks of modernization. Things appear in the bulletin such as "trunk or treat in the church parking lot - fall costumes or like themes" instead of any mention of saints or an All Saints Day party. ... Shocking to look back at this event in light of the Fr Rostand scandal. It seemed that he or another superior instructed Fr Goldade to refuse the sacrament. There were no grounds to take such a measure and declare someone a public sinner for simply being a concerned Catholic and posting a blog.
