Ad multos annos!
I remember his consecration anniversary celebration a few years ago, those were the good old days! Before COVID, when you could still travel on planes without a mask.
It was also the days before WW3.
Shows how old I'm getting. I met Father Williamson when visiting STAS (prior to entering) and then when I entered he was Bishop Williamson. Bishop Williamson was best suited toward forming seminarians' minds. He should have stayed rector at STAS until the end. Not sure what's going on at STAS now, but there was nothing like having Bishop Williamson as a teacher. Most of what he taught has stuck with me to this day. You'll notice that many of the Resistance priests were there at STAS the same time I was and listening to the same teaching and the same spiritual conferences (Fathers Hewko, Chazal, Pfeiffer, MacDonald) ... all there about the same time I was. Everyone eagerly looked forward to his weekly spiritual conference and any classes he taught. Bishop Williamson could keep everyone's attention for a 35-40 minute sermon, whereas most have you fighting sleep after about 5 minutes.
I don't agree with him about everything, but he knocked it out of the park explaining how the modern mind has been formed by centuries of creeping progressive subjectivism, and that has stuck with me and changed the way I think about the world and the way I approach theological issues. Those lesson were life-altering and invaluable.
