I thought he was in his 70's. He does not look well for his age. He use to be a strong lumberjack type when I met him in the late 90's. Does he have health issues?

I’ve had 4 SSPX priests tell me
“When we need to consecrate, we will consecrate, with or without the permission of Rome”

I suspect that they don't necessarily speak for the Society ... or Bishop Fellay.

ABL didn’t consecrate until he was in his 80s. I’d be stunned if we don’t have new Bishops by the time the 2 younger ones are  in their 70s.  Nothing will happen under Francis( he’ll  probably be dead in 5 years) What the Society ultimately does will depend on the position of Francis’ successor. If he gives permission unconditionally, great. If not, no matter. If Modernist Rome “excommunicates” us, so be it.
Let’s wait and see what happens instead of engaging in frivolous speculation
It's not frivolous speculation when we know the new-sspx's reaction to the "resistance" was one of condemnation and fake outrage.  Applying the same logic to their own society tells us that the new-sspx won't consecrate anyone without new-rome's permission.
.
+W consecrated bishops because of his age and he was the only one.  80 is an arbitrary number; health is the determining factor.  If +W is not within his rights to consecrate new bishops because of the present crisis, then for +Fellay to do so would be the height of hypocrisy.  But that's never stopped him before...

The Society’s reaction to the Resistance is due to the fact that the Resistance tries hard to pull priests and faithful out of the Society. The SSPV recently consecrated a new Bishop and the Society said nothing. ( as the SSPV isn’t trying to rip the Society apart) The  Resistance was created in direct opposition to the Society, so of course the reaction will be negative
On another note, I don’t personally have any issue with Williamson’s consecrations. Of course he has a right to do what he did( the Church is in a crisis so having a younger Trad Bishop like Bp. Zendejas is helpful) I’d say the same about the SSPV. If the Resistance focused on promoting Tradition instead of taking constant jabs at the Society, I don’t think anyone would have a problem with them. I have no qualms with Avrille’s approach.

I agree with Banezian on this post.  Lets not react off of speculations.  I also have no problems with the resistance except that they seem determined, or at least those who speak for them on the forum, to bring down the SSPX. I give the SSPX the benefit of doubt for if it wasn't for them, tradition would almost be extinct and there would be no resistance either since they were formed from SSPX priests!

God is in charge and everything will ultimately work out the way he wills.
