Quote from: ShepherdofSheepQuote from: Novus WeirdoYeah, that's what little boys in California say when they look for legal protection in wanting to use the girls bathroom at school. Sorry, but your identification with masculine traits is not Catholic. What's wrong with Shepherdess?Where have I ever suggested that? I picked my username because I felt "Shepherdess" would be pushing the limits of reason with length (for an already long username), and because most people picture something "Bo Peep" style when they hear "shepherdess", not an actual living female sheep caretaker.People here call me "Shepherdess" all the time and I am perfectly happy with that. "Shepherd" is a term that can be used for both sexes, whereas "shepherdess" is more specific. And my second statement you quoted was merely my expression of dislike for the title "Ms." being used as opposed to the traditional "Ms." or Mrs.". Where am I identifying with masculine traits?Well, just now in your response you essentially reject the feminine image of a "Bo Peep." If you're not feminine, then what's the opposite? I disagree that "Shepherd' is a unisɛҳuąƖ definition; history has never referred to Christ - The Good Shepherd - as being uncertain or ambiguous about his gender standing. So you're intentionally blurring the line there. As for the matter of specifics, Shepherdess IS specific. You're a woman, right? Why reject that? You also made numerous references in your posts of earlier this year (Jan? or Feb?) where you made it known that you find "the female domain" difficult, never felt a calling to a religious life or to be married, references to castration - which may be a part of your job, but the announcing it and the sense of pride about it is certainly not lady-like - and your attitude of your job being a singular vocation. Are you saying that motherhood, not animal husbandry, is not even a blip on your radar? Catholicism is very specific about a woman's duties and what you espouse is in line with masculine indentification. Protestant perhaps, but not Catholic. Sorry.

:surprised:Oops! Sorry for misspelling, Kazimierz! The grandmother of one of my school students heard Mass in a garage for farm implements. This was in the 1970s in Ukraine. (USSR) It had to be in secret, early before workers arrived. The priest was a brother of one of the collectives mechanics. There were years without Mass or Sacraments. One of the secret priests was arrested and died in prison the week after he said Mass.:pray:I fear we are closer in the west to this kind of persecution than we think.
