A few points to clarify my last post:
I am one of those (few?) who tries to be as objective as possible. When I criticized the location, it was purely personal subjective, giving my opinion as a Texan. Objectively, it is probably a great location because so many people live on both coasts, including the East Coast. Also, the fact that this consecration will be in the United States makes it historical and unique. When was the last time a traditional Bishop was consecrated with much public fanfare in the United States? (excluding clandestine and semi-clandestine consecrations by various Sedevacantist bishops)
Let's do a quick review:
+ABL consecrated 4 bishops in 1988: Econe, Switzerland
Consecration of Bishop Rangel: Brazil
and more recently, the Resistance bishops:
Bishop Faure: Brazil
Bishop Thomas Aquinas: Brazil
So all the public, recognize-and-resist Traditional Bishop consecrations have been in EUROPE or SOUTH AMERICA which makes travel quite a big ordeal, even for Americans with money for airfare.
Any time you add "passport", "customs", "different currency", "different culture", "different language", "longer plane ride", "greater expenses" to the mix, a bunch of people will give up. It's simply a fact that these obstacles pose a barrier to entry, which is enough to cause a certain % of people to stay home.
But this one will be in the United States! I predict a big turnout.
