  • I will never forget when a friend of mine who knew a Monsenhor very closed to the Benedict XVI' circles told me that this Mosenhor has told him that Benenict XVI had 3  big mission to accomplish in his pontificate:

1 - bring the SSPX reconcilied with Rome
2 - the consecration of Russia
3-  stablish a strong relation with de Muslims

    The first one is clear.
The second one  we have a big smoke in the air, although  I do not believe it will be done as requested by Our Lady throught Benedict XVI.
The third one not sure he will have enough time to accomplished

    The strategy:

Does anyone notice that, the environment created in this conflict inside the Tradition, today, looks, smell and tastes as  at the time of JP II, when he put the conservatives against the traditionalists?

Those who want's the agreement with Rome today uses the same line of arguments and the same tools to attack as was used at the time of JP II against the tradition.

It sems that JP II was made to first separate the majority of conservatives from the true faith And Benedict XVI is up to finalize with the remaining. But only God knows if they will be able to keep going "according to the plan".

    Let's pray!

Ps: sorry for my bad english!

Yes it really is more or less the same strategy as before.

These leaders make some superficial gestures, they create a false impression of themselves that various priests and media outlets help to cultivate in the target audience, then they play the "obedience" card.

    It's the same old story.

The Faithful are susceptible to it for reasons such as:

    1) lack of comprehension of the crisis

    - in particular, one can note the failure to understand that it is less the externals and the form of the New Mass and the New Rites of the Sacraments that are the problem (of course, those are very grave problems, very serious problems) but the theology it is based on.  It is the apostate theology that is the problem, and one can have the old rituals said by men without Faith, who have the same bad theology that led to the Novus Ordo rites.

    2) weariness and a desire to be accepted.
    3) immersion in a liberal society and the media.

Archbishop Lefebvre really understood this problem, he described it very perspicuously:

    Quote
For I think that many Traditional Catholics enjoy the traditions; they like the old Mass, they like the old sacraments, they like the old teaching of the Church, but they do not really believe in Jesus Christ as the one and only Saviour, God and Creator. That is the bad influence of all the modern errors coming through television and the media - they are so bad, so pagan, so opposed to Jesus Christ and the Catholic Faith that few people remain true Catholics wholly faithful to Jesus Christ. That is why we can't be indifferent to these scandalous events in Rome, we must judge them in the light of our Faith and help Catholics, traditional Catholics, to see that this bad example of the Pope is a great scandal, very dangerous for their souls.

Catholics like the old mass and the old catechisms.  But at a deeper level, the Faith remains seriously endangered.  The paganism of the broader culture affects them.  And so they can't see the seriousness of the scandalous behavior of the Pope.

Yes, this is why the belief that Benedict XVI is a "friend of Tradition" is alarming.  It shows a failure to understand that Benedict XVI's behavior remains scandalous, his intentions remain dubious.  It shows a willful blindness, a disregard for what the Society has taught for years.
