  • Walking into Rome is like walking into a brothel while thinking "if they come at me I'll just walk out." Sorry, Bishop Fellay. That is not reality

  • I have never before heard Father Chazal speak. What a treat! He is an admirably orthodox man, needless to say—I expected nothing less—but I was quite unprepared for his eloquence and his remarkable understanding of English and, particularly, American idiom (something quite startling given the density of his French accent). Like Bishop Williamson, here is a speaker who could sell snow to an Eskimo. What is more, he might even succeed in selling the Faith to the wavering priests and laity affiliated with the SSPX.

Being a mere creature of flesh and blood, I must plead guilty to finding the muffin of hard-nosed thinking all the more attractive for being topped with the frosting of eloquence. It will be a long time before I forget his description of Cincinnati as a center of split-ism or of the pavane being performed by Bishop Fellay et Cie. and the various Vatican conciliar-Modernist monsters as the "hootenanny of reconciliation."

Perhaps not everyone will agree, but I firmly believe that the truths of the Faith and the dangers of reconciliation with the Roman embodiment of error are not diluted or attenuated by the leavening of a wise and courageous man's wit.
