    From the SSPX Website:

Pope Francis is currently visiting the United States, and as a welcome to the Holy Father, the Society of St. Pius X took out an ad in USA Today's special Papal Visit edition which had this message for all readers:

    Quote
We support and defend Catholic Families: Children are the hope and future of the Church!

Following this firm statement was this encouraging quote from Archbishop Lefebvre:

    Quote
Christian families, you represent the Church, be convinced of it. Your families contain a wellspring of supernatural faith, of graces, of blessings of God, which is absolutely evident. So it is a great hope; I would even say it is the only hope; I see no other.

It is therefore you, dear Christian parents, who are truly the wellspring of the Church, and we congratulate you. Continue, for pity's sake, continue. Take it to heart to give your children the profoundly Christian formation which you yourselves received." (Confirmation sermon given at Econe on May 26, 1985)

The advertisement also gave a webpage link that features various articles about the family: www.sspx.org/family.

Could have been an ad from anyone or any NO organization for that matter, as confederate catholic said.

So no clear statement on what a Catholic family should be (ie. not ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ)?

Then again, if they did I highly doubt USA Today would print it.

  • Hi Friends,

This SSPX  :pray:ad raises a question for me.  I am new to this forum and would like to find out how I can discover the Mass times and chapels of the Marian Corps Resistance priests in the areas where my family resides.

We live in both SW Pennsylvania -- and Eastern Massachusetts.

Is there a website we can go to in order to find out where and when we can attend a Mass offered by priests of the Resistance?

    Thanks so much!

They will easily spend the capitol of the Archbishop to legitimize Francis.

Links to PtM sites won't work from here, but put the same in Google and you'll find the site if you care to.

Fatima, if I were you, I'd hold off on that.  If you're referring to the Marian Corps Resistance  headquartered in Boston, KY, you may wish to reconsider.  You don't know me and I don't know you, but simply a word to the wise.  Do with this cautionary advice what you will.  There are a number of issues which have come to our attention lately.  I am not at liberty presently to say more.  So I say, do what you feel to do.

  • Thank you for your responses -- I am not sure what to make of your caution.

Are there priests of the Resistance, other than those from Boston, KY?

I am still trying to find options to V2 parishes -- and clergy.   :furtive:

  • Fatima girl, I wish I could be more specific and say more.  there is much to be said, but can't be said now.  To our knowledge, there are only two priests left at the seminary, Frs. Pfeiffer and Hewko.   I have learned recently from one of the lay people there that the seminary may not even open for a third year.  One priest left the work recently.  Three seminarians are not returning, and, we understand, the one remaining "seminarian" is described as a mental basket case.  There may be one other, but he said not to have a vocation.  From all that we've heard, the finances are in a shambles.  A layman seems to be in charge of the entire operation, and he is not accompanied by a very good reputation.   I'd just watch it, that's all.  There is no reason that you should take my advice, I realize, since you don't even know me.  Well, you can take it or leave it.  Blessings.!

Since you're from Pennsylvania and Massachusetts, perhaps you would like to check out the St. Benedict Center in Richmond, New Hampshire, which is about halfway between your two locations (website is catholicism.org).  They have only the Traditional Latin Mass, and curiously are on good terms with the local diocese (something the SSPX seems to be trying so hard to achieve).  Their mission is the conversion of America, which is a lofty goal (and no one else apparently has the same objective).

  • Thanks to all of you for your help and candidness!  I really appreciate the help and suggestions!

I have watched Bishop Williamson's teachings and sermons on youtube as he made Confirmation stops in the USA this summer.  I liked what I saw.

Do you think he will remain Resistance or will he return to the SSPX, if the Resistance falls apart -- as it sounds like you may be intimating here?  Or, maybe I am reading you wrong?

If there are problems with the priests from Boston, KY, then will we still have priests of the Resistance here with us in the USA -- I guess that's one of my points of confusion.

Forgive my ignorance, please.  I am just trying to figure things out!   :tinfoil:

    Thanks!

Fatimagirl: The Kentucky version of the resistance is certainly going through a hard time right now,but elsewhere the resistance is thriving and even growing, especially in France and South America. Bp.Williamson isn't going anywhere.
