I don't know the literary reference, but a trad once told me Pope Pius XI
was reported to have spoken to someone invisible while on his deathbed saying "... It was not my intention".

As movies go, I actually like that one. I especially like the music.

That was in the good old days when a movie had a real story writer. You know, a linear story with a beginning, middle and end, and various sub-plots that all reach a climax and resolution, etc.

Nowadays movies are disjointed, out-of-sequence, and often very confusing. Oh, and let's not forget unoriginal and contrived.
