  • There has apparently been some confusion as to my position on the matter.

I do not advocate leaving the SSPX in favor of "staying at home".

Needless to say, I plan on following my own advice.

I would add, however, that if you have a Resistance chapel in your area, or a chapel in-the-making, you are obliged to support it. That is, you should make your utmost effort to attend any Masses there, and support that chapel financially rather than your usual SSPX one. (If you feel bad about that, you can give some money directly to your SSPX priest to support him -- that way no money goes upstream to District HQ and Menzingen)

  • I agree with you, for now. If I start hearing heresy from the pulpit, then I will consider staying home. I really wish I had the option of attending a resistance Mass, though.

    This is also my opinion.

  • Please remember in thy humble oraisons those beleaguered souls who do not even have access to the SSPX (bears truly being one of them). As my not going to the indult would cause grave scandal to the very weak souls in my family, as I still abide with the weakest of them, I cannot be a home aloner. The time must come again when I will have to relocate to a Resistance/paleo-SSPX chapel.

This is not to say I am in communion with the indulterous (or basically modernists masquerading as trads in this community) or accordistas (a few of them floating around as well). Charity being the greatest of the THREE, I have keep quiet as much as possible. I sense the time approacheth when open speech will be necessary, and I shall be driven out. If it be God's will, give me the strength to accept.

  • We lost our SSPX mission in 2008 and there is no indult in this extremely liberal diocese.  So I have no choice but to be a home-aloner, and let me tell you, it's lonely!  I cannot imagine the joy of having a weekly mass!

Sorry to hear this.....such is our times and you're not alone in this situation.

Fr. Pfeiffer, I think who said this during a sermon. He said that there was a family in So. Korea that only received the sacraments once a year (when a Traditional priest would visit that area) and they kept strong to the Faith by reciting Our Lady's Holy Rosary (daily).
God gives us enough graces (even if it's only once a year), when He sees our sincereity, honesty, and determination in perseverance to serve Him.

  • Thank you, I appreciate the support.  We are in a spiritual wasteland here, made worse by the fact that the local ordinary is a protege of Cardinal Mahony.  Need I say more?

Pray the rosary and novena to the Holy Ghost to stay strong, send your holy angel to mass every day and remember that "the same affliction befalls your brethren who are in the world."(1 Peter 5:9)

Our Lord will certainly provide for you what you need as long as you remain steadfast - as He did for all the faithful Catholics who refused to compromise when the revolution of V2 hit in the late 60s  - that was a time when there were 1000s of families who suddenly found themselves to be "home aloners" because the alternative meant compromise with the NO.

Remember and use those courageous Catholics as your example, and know that Our Lord and Lady know what you're going through for the greater glory of God - He will never abandon you!

    I'm sorry to hear that.

You can always watch a live TLM on the internet. I know it's not the same, but it will at least allow you to watch the Mass of All Time, even if you can't access it in person.

I'll pray that God grants you another TLM.
Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.

  • Thank you so much.  I appreciate your kindness.  Please remember all of the traditionalists (not more than a dozen of us remain here now; those who could move, did move).  This diocese is openly hostile to Tradition.  I offer up my Sunday devotions for those striving to maintain Tradition.

There are no options left here in Malta... we traditional Catholics are abandoned. No one from Fr Pfeiffer's end bothered to contact us

  • Sorry, no can do.

I'm not going to go to Fr. Themann's mass, as he does not believe that Quo Primum was a dogmatic statement. He believes that "part" of the docuмent is "disciplinary" and "part" is dogmatic, and even asks the question, "What is a missal?"

With that kind of mentality, I can't subject myself or my family to such error. This is such a gigantic issue, because Father Bolduc taught us that we should keep a copy of Quo Primum with us, and that it is of paramount importance to defending our Faith.
    Matthew 5:37

But let your speech be yea, yea: no, no: and that which is over and above these, is of evil.
