Argument against the SSPX's rational on jurisdiction
« on: April 15, 2026, 09:43:31 PM »
Has anyone seen this article on Rorate that disputes the SSPX contention that jurisdiction-office can be completely separated from Holy Orders?
I've never seen this argument before, or it's counter argument, from any traditional source (except the NeoSSPX).

Was their current line on this what the Archbishop held? Is there anything against the Faith in here, or actual hazards inherent in the SSPX position as this man contends?

This is completely moronic.

They obviously distinct things.

The entire practice of the Church for 2000 years has shown that.

Only an absolute fool would attempt to argue otherwise. But we have a lot of those around these days.

The article has virtually no theological reference or even just arguments from the precedence in the history of the Church.

And he even uses arch modernist Pope Benedict to back up his case!

"For this reason, Joseph Ratzinger’s early statement that the separation of the power of orders and the power of governance is “strictly impermissible” is absolutely worthy of assent."

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you indulters. Who lead you down an appearance of Catholicism, but sooner or later the forked tongue of modernism appears.
