Docuмentary on Archbishop Lefebvre to show in Paris

    9-14-2012 | DICI

On Saturday the 29th of September, the film Archbishop Lefebvre: A Bishop In Stormy Times will be shown in public for the first time. This film retraces the life of the founder of the Society of St. Pius X based on the unpublished testimonials of those who knew him, including numerous docuмents from the archives. This screening will be in Paris, in the presence of Bishop Bernard Fellay, Superior General of the Society of St. Pius X, at the Grand Rex at exactly 4 p.m.

The March-April 2012 issue of Nouvelles de Chretiente took its readers behind the scenes of the filming of this exceptional docuмentary. Jacques-Regis du Cray, author of the script inspired by the biography of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre written by Bishop Bernard Tissier de Mallerais (Marcel Lefebvre: The Biography; published in English by Angelus Press), described the purpose of the film:

To make known to the multitude, and not just to the faithful of the Society of St. Pius X, a personage through whom we comprehend the crisis in the Church. As we do not wish to limit our audience to French-speaking people only, the film will be available in English, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Polish.

After the public showing on September 29 in Paris, the film “will be sold in DVD format and will be distributed by several vendors, including Clovis.”

  • Let's hope the Archbishop will be realistic portrait as the great warrior-hero he really was and not as a smiley wimp with a daisy on his ears listening to canon D around the roadsides of Econe after eating some soy hamburgers and drinking his coke zero on the straw.

  • As for me, I'd like to know how I can pre-order the DVD. I might be interested

in a bulk purchase. This one is going to be a keeper. Even if they don't do him

justice, the fact that they didn't will be something to remember.

And I would hope they could put out another DVD of all the "cut scenes."

Yes, I would certainly order the DVD with the "cut scenes", something like 'Director's cut'?? but Neil, I guess it's only wishful thinking.
