  • Bishop Williamson has appealed to help from all SSPXers.

SSPXers should by have now withheld their weekly tithes from their local chapel.

So, what are you doing with it?

Is there anyone on this forum who couldn't send a measly $20 to the St Marcel Initiative?

Lets all send SOMETHING, and report back here after doing so!

I will lead the pack in reporting my modest $50 contribution (my previous was larger, but $50 is the normal tithe I used to give the SSPX.  It now goes to Bishop Williamson).

  • Seraphim,
I sent $50 the last time, which was just the other day. Can't remember what day!  Also, sent $50 to the good padres. Happy to do the little I can. I pray to Our Lady of Prompt Succor to lead, guide, protect and defend them. I also pray for Bishop Fellay and gang, for their conversion.

    Seraphim,

Please give me the link for Msgr. Williamson's donation site.

    Thanks!

  • Sent a decent check in care of H.E. to True Restoration back in October.  It still has not been cashed.

    How about this week?

    Next week?

    The rest of your life?

Or would you rather give it to Krah?

  • Not to say that I don't support helping the good bishop, but this thread reeks of pride. We should keep our charitable donations secret, so that only the Lord may know of our deeds. Matthew, chapter 6, verses 1-4 comes to mind.

[1] Take heed that you do not your justice before men, to be seen by them: otherwise you shall not have a reward of your Father who is in heaven. [2] Therefore when thou dost an almsdeed, sound not a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the ѕуηαgσgυєs and in the streets, that they may be honoured by men. Amen I say to you, they have received their reward. [3] But when thou dost alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doth. [4] That thy alms may be in secret, and thy Father who seeth in secret will repay thee.

Perhaps Matthew should post a link at the top of CathInfo to the St. Marcel Initiative, but let's not have a thread where we all boast about our donations.

I understand your point, but if I thought my $50 was anything to brag about, I wouldn't have started the thread.

The intent is rather to jar my fellow hardliners from Internet lethargy and do something tangible for the man who holds our future in his consecrated hands.

  • Just a friendly reminder...

Dr. Maxie has travel expenses too.

Wedding gifts and roundtrip airfare to Mossad military base reception parties are expensive !

  • I would rather swallow my pride and remind myself and others to donate than wait for the Bishop or priests to make donation requests for something that benefits us.

  • BTW:  Bishop Williamson will be in Kentucky soon for a priest's retreat, so let's remember prayers for them, too.

You're missing the point of my last post. Reminding/asking/recommending people to donate to Bishop Williamson is fine. Blowing a trumpet and saying, "I donated this much money, look at me!" isn't. Like I said, the best thing that would help Bishop Williamson would be for a link to the Initiative be put at the top of the website. I really can't see anything other than pride and smugness coming out of this thread if its purpose is to "Lets all send SOMETHING, and report back here after doing so!".

I'm not trying to insult or belittle any of you guys. I'm just saying that pride is such an easy thing to fall into.
