  • Why has Angelus press for it's second edition hymnal scrubbed Bp Williamsons preface. Are we in "1984" where the good Bishop is being thrown into a memory hole?

I expected him to be scrubbed from the second edition. In fact, that might be why they had to create a second edition :)
Think of all the SSPX chapels that still have the original T.R.H. in the pews, containing a preface by the SSPX resident music expert, Bishop Williamson -- who has since been kicked out of the SSPX. It makes them look bad.

  • Does it have the new hymn, "Pagli'rani Gloriosus" (to the tune of Pange Lingua)?

  • They were scrubbing his sermons and conferences long before he was officially kicked out.

  • A year or so ago, the Verbum (SSPX USA Seminary magazine) had a special issue to celebrate the history of the American Seminary, spanning 3 decades or so. They managed to not mention one single time His Excellency's name, even if he was Rector from 1983 to 2003! Quite an acrobatic mental gymnatics reminiscent, indeed, of 1984. When I read that, I just said to myself: "They must have such a seething hatred for the man, that it is diabolical!" I didn't mention it to His Excellency, because I didn't want to aggravate him. But that was obviously the intentions of those behind this scandalous re-writting of "history". Now, imagine a little bit what they must teach at the seminary! If they can mutilate the telling of their own history, what are they going to do with the rest?

    .
Incredible. But that goes to show how Communist minded the XSPX has become.
    .
Some in the know say they had to get rid of the Winona seminary and start all over FAR AWAY (Virginia) because that's the only way to rid the halls of the ghost of +W. That was years ago, and they were worried about his ghost.
    .
So this special issue you mention is direct support of that insight.
    .
What would they do if +W were to come visit in Virginia? That would be a fun script to write, for a play.

It's not nice to joke about Gregorian Chant. But that was pretty funny anyway. (I took the liberty of correcting Gloriosus.)

I meant the Gloriosus to modify Pagli'rani.  Even though it ends in a -i, I took it as a reference to a single individual and thus the equivalent of a masculine singular.  In the original of course, gloriosi refers to "corporis" (genitive singular), the Body [of Christ] ... and that's part of the joke, to transfer that glory from Christ to "Pagli'rani".  If I had time to waste, I'd write out the entire hymn as a parody ... but that would be crossing the line too far into irreverence.
