  • The fact that one would ask a priest who has no authority whether it is lawful to attend the traditional Mass of a priest who has no authority is a bit comical.

  • This is the same stupid, short-sighted and mean-spirited view that Fr Robinson has, only reversed.

History will look upon our times with bewilderment and astonishment - that persecuted Catholics would make things harder on themselves (of their own choosing) by creating divisions where there were none or shouldn't be any.  Much of the suffering in our times is not part of the "chastisement" but is self-inflicted.

That video is not even the reverse of Fr Robinson's position, as it has this cultic 'you should only attend Resistance masses' stand while Fr. Robinson never even claimed that you should only attend SSPX masses.

Trento, I question your sanity.  Did you even read the OP quote?  Fr is saying all Resistance masses are a "grave danger to the Faith".  Can he make it any clearer?

"On the other extreme are those situations where an SSPX priest knows that a certain non-SSPX traditionalist venue is a grave danger to the faith. Frankly, most, if not all, of the Resistance Masses would fall into this category. In many cases, the behavior of these priests has been and continues to be scandalous, by their spirit, their preaching, and their indiscriminate conferral of the priesthood and episcopacy. To attend a Mass with such ongoing scandals poses a serious danger to the souls of the faithful."

He was also on an interview a year or so ago (he's done so many of these interviews over the years), where he talked about the evils of 'independent' priests (and of course sedevacantism).  Now, he's red-lighting the Resistance.  What's left in Tradition that he hasn't red-lighted?  Nothing.

Please stop gaslighting us.  Fr R's position is nothing new; he's been saying such things for years.

I think you are myopic by ignoring the qualifiers. Furthermore the article mentions other non-SSPX masses via the questions posed:

Some questions regard the set of priests offering the Mass. “Father, should I attend the Institute’s Mass? The FSSP? SSPV? CMRI? IBP? A Motu Mass? This independent priest’s Mass?” Other questions regard the doctrinal position of the ones offering Mass. “Father should I attend a Feeneyite Mass? A sedevacantist Mass? A ‘Vatican II is all good’ Mass?”

  • There's no legitimate/theological/legal reason to avoid Resistance masses (excluding Fr Pfeifer).  Absolutely none.  Fr R has no credibility and this is just another (in a long list) of data points which prove he has an agenda.
