The sphere appearing to emerge from the loose yardage of fabric had me scratching my head, especially after the artist is seen putting his signature in that fabric next to the "ball" at the end of the video. It would make no sense to sign the whole wall in a place where the work might be changed or covered up in the future. So the artist must think that ball and crumpled linens is an enduring part of the whole.
I'm pretty sure the large stone ball is intended to hold down the blonde girl's yellow cape so it doesn't blow away in the cosmic winds from the light rays emanating from the side of the Christ figure.
That's a creative interpretation, TKGS, and very helpful. Thank you!
The statue outside looks like the Grim Reaper instead of the Blessed Virgin. The altar painting looks like a bizarre mixture of Christianity and GrekoRoman Mythos, and that circular doorway- a portal to where? (Wherever it is, not sure I want to go!) Faithful should be asking which SSPX superiors signed off on this monstrosity; it didn't just jump from a sketchpad to reality without being commissioned, approved and paid for.
That's correct. Someone approved it in advance. There's no other way. The artist would never execute a design that was not already approved and signed for, because then he would not be able to claim he had done what had been commissioned, and he would not be able to collect payment for his work. No artist would do that.
At the same time, what the artist had in mind and what the customer had in mind regarding how to interpret the artwork would not have to be the same thing. For example, the customer could have led the artist to think that the customer would be looking for some (pretended) interpretation, but one that is in truth a distraction from the customer's real objective -- the real one being none of the artist's business! In which case, the artist is acting in good faith but has been a pawn in the customer's game of deception.
From our perspective, what the artist had in mind might be interesting for some reason, but what the customer actually and honestly had in mind should be our primary concern. And we are not willing to be confident that the customer would dare say exactly what it was they were hoping to achieve.
All in all, it seems to me that the customer's intention is left up for grabs. My speculation is that this metallic orb is symbolic of
the unknown ball of wax that the SSPX is delivering to the Faithful by way of the future "normalization" with Newrome that is in the works. Nobody really knows what it will become. It is like
a mysterious EGG that is about to hatch and what kind of critter or perhaps monster will emerge has yet to be seen!
But in any case, once it hatches, it's too late to prevent its effects.
