  • As of right now, the SSPX has purged almost 1/2 of its professors, replacing them with priests ordained after its own internal "Vatican 2".

Fr. Le Roux is no Bishop Williamson; that's for sure. He's a "yes man" for Bishop Fellay.

Of the remaining 7 professors, 3 of them are brand-new priests. It actually used to be 4 (Fr. Asher is no longer on the staff)

    Rector
Reverend Father Yves le Roux was born in Paris, France. Ordained in 1990, he was assigned as Rector of St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary in 2003. Father le Roux teaches Pastoral Studies and gives evening spiritual conferences to all of the seminarians.
    Vice-rector
Father Patrick Abbet was born and raised in Charrat, Switzerland, not far from the Seminary in Ecône. He entered the Seminary there and was ordained in 2002. Assigned to the American Seminary in 2005, he teaches Dogma I, Metaphysics, and Music. Father Abbet was appointed Vice-Rector in 2013.
Father James Peek was born in Wanganui, New Zealand. He studied at the Seminary in Ecône where he was ordained in 1985. He was Rector of Holy Cross Seminary, Australia, until he was assigned as a professor of St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary in 2001. Father Peek teaches Scripture, Logic, and Latin III.
Father Juan-Carlos Iscara was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He attended the Society’s Seminary in Argentina and was ordained by Archbishop Lefebvre in 1986. After assignments in Australia and as District Superior of Mexico, Father Iscara was assigned to the Seminary in 1993 where he now teaches Church History and Acts of the Magisterium.
Father Matthew, O.S.B. was born in Laveen, Arizona. He studied Philosophy at St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary and finished his priestly studies of Theology at St. Pius X Seminary in Econe, Switzerland. He was ordained in 1993. Father is currently a member of the Order of St. Benedict but is assigned to the Seminary as a professor of Latin I, Liturgy, and Spanish.
Father Todd Anderson was born in Louisiana. He studied at St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary and was ordained in 2010. After assignments in Asia and Australia, as well as three years of secretariat at the North American District House, Father Anderson returned to the Seminary as professor of Humanities and Apologetics.
Father Michael Goshie is an American born in Milan, Italy. After serving in the Marine Corps and earning a Master’s in Education, he entered the Seminary and was ordained in 2010. Father Goshie was assigned to the Seminary in 2012 where he teaches Canon Law, Cosmology & Psychology, and Latin II.
Father Steven Reuter was born in Spokane, Washington. He entered the Seminary and was ordained in 2012. After a year in the Dominican Republic, Father Reuter returned to the Seminary as professor of Dogma II and Ethics.

  • The situation in the SSPX reminds me of that visit of Darth Vader to the second Death Star in the opening scenes of ROTJ, where he says that "I am here to put you back on schedule"...  I was in KC when the purge began.  I was also there when Fr Schmidberger did a massive damage control tour in the wake of Bishop Williamsons comments about Auschwitz, which were recorded in October but only released the week after the January announcement of the lifting of the "excommunications".  When I asked Fr S about that I suddenly discovered I was in the land of the neocons.  That was just "conspiracy theory" that had no place in these discussions, which was all about absolving the SSPX of "h0Ɩ0cαųst denial", whatever exactly that is.  When one cannot have a serious debate about any topic but has to toe the "party line" that is the end of the spiritual life of that institution.
Our Lady of Fatima Pray for us you are our only hope!

  • Don't forget Fr Themann becoming rector at Holy Cross Seminary. Not to take away from his intelligence, piety and abilities but he had only been ordained 6 years or so when he became rector. Coincidentally, he had given a 'Resistance to What' conference in St Mary's that was highly promoted.
