I think the problem with this melbourne committee is the covetous spirit that appears to be pervading it. Because, other than the lay righteousness, such a committee is not entirely a bad thing. The only solution I see for them/us is poverty in spirit. Because, +Williamson has decided against a strict hierarchical structure. And, fr. chazal is for obvious reasons here deciding against the strict hierarchical structures polar opposite. So, that means that melbourne, and likely everywhere else, is not going to have a fancy dancy chapel giving its members a sense of 1950s normalcy. And, I think that is a good thing. Because, we are in a crisis, and if we try to become normal, I think we are going to be losing something in its place. Some trads lose the papacy, other trads lose on some other divisive or disputed issue. And, in this case, we would be losing canon law if replaced by this type of lay investiture. So, good for fr. chazal. But, do not be too hard on these ausis. Because, I think they are serious trads. They just need direction, like we all do. So, let us pray for our three bishops. Because, they are our rocks.
