The SSPX will be holding their meeting early next week, and soon after will come out with their "great news" that "the Holy Ghost" has spontaneously put into the hearts of the general chapter members that they should make a deal with Modernist Rome.
It will be portrayed as unanimous (after all the nails-sticking-out get pounded down, of course) and something every senior SSPX leader thought was a good idea. They won't mention Bp. Fellay personally, his inner circle, GREC, or anything of their almost-two-decade-long conspiracy to sell out +Lefebvre's SSPX position.
At this point, how many SSPX attendees will see the light and join the Resistance? After 4 years of despising, criticizing, and negating the Resistance, it's hard to eat crow, admit the Resistance was right all along, and then proceed to do the right thing.
It might take extreme humility, but to all of you I say: do the right thing! God is watching. Life is short, and Eternity is long.I like that anonymous quote (in the graphic) because it implies a philosophy of always following and seeking the truth. When you discover you were wrong, humbly admit it and correct yourself. Make a course correction. In this way, you are more likely to arrive at perfection.
The OPPOSITE of this would be to stubbornly stick to your team, following them even to hell, just because years ago you threw your lot in with them. Or just because you've been supporting and donating to them for years (even decades). Hey, people convert at the 11th hour all the time. And for each person that has done this, it is to their credit. Sometimes to their ETERNAL credit.
The only thing worse than making a mistake, is to make a mistake and stubbornly and blindly defend it for years afterwards, dying rather than ever admitting you were wrong.Just like not everyone is born a Texan -- some have to move here, as I did.
