A tithe - who to support?

  • A tithe is given to God, like Abel was taught to do, handed down from Adam.

    If this helps,

In giving “Sunday collections”, it is a tithe of the first fruits of yourself to God: an oblation of a spiritual offering to Him, and or, an oblation of a material offering to Him.  The oblation of a Spiritual offering is easily understood.  The oblation of a Material offering is given to God, to His ministers in His Catholic Church for the sustenance of their needs, as with, God will inspire them in the rest of His will, what to do with the “abundance”…

When we “tithe” we cannot do so to an entity that does not have the Faith –it is not to God; it is to man.

Therefore, when we “tithe” it can only be to those who have the Faith.  As far as the present SSPX crisis, it would be in your conscience for now in what God had provided for you to know where the True upholding of the Faith is, and from there, where to “tithe”.

As I remember Fr. Peter Scott writing on this topic, he said that we must primarily “tithe” and give support to the place that we go to Mass; not to another place that has the same Mass.  I can understand this, but if that primary “place” is now compromising subtly, or wholesale in the Faith, it is then an entity that is willfully choosing to lose the Faith.   Therefore, it is not to God; it is to man.

Objectively, Fr. Pfeiffer, Bishop Williamson, and the others are clearly upholding what the Faith is, and where it is in the Catholic Church.  Therefore, in this present crisis, it clearly shows that the primary “tithe” would go to the support of those priests, and Bishop, who are not compromising, and still doing the will of the Catholic Church that they were ordained in -doing God’s will- regardless if liberal leaders want to throw them out (like the other liberals leaders had done to Archbishop Lefebvre); and secondarily, a “tithe” to another place until such circuмstances reveal to yourself that you cannot support the (vain) efforts of those others endangering the Faith, and the Faith of your children.

  •    AMEN !

We cannot donate to the promoters of and believers in the "bastard" Mass. We cannot support priests who see nothing wrong with the Vatican Council II, who accept the New Code Of Canon Law ( the code which Archbishop L. said was terrible); we cannot  give to support those who believe they receive their "mission" from the Novus Ordo bishops. We cannot support those who would bring us into the modernist non-catholic church.
To give support to these people violate, as the poster above said, God's very commandments. We become guilty of the sins they commit , when carried on with our tacit support. Much like the cab driver driving the woman to the abortuary to procure the murder of her child-- the cabdriver is guilty of assisting in the crime.
The only support you can give these wayward priests is the most minimum amount which they, personally, may  require for sustenance, as long as they are still providing the true Mass and Sacraments for you . When they stop doing that-- your support obligation is gone.
Now, however, we are not off the hook. Even if a resistance Bishop or priest is not frequenting our area, we are still obligated to support those true Catholic priests and Bishops fighting for our faith, fulfilling their duties before Almighty God, and helping to preserve and protect the faith in our country.

  • We made the decision to give 50% to our Resistance Mass center and 50% to the visiting Resistance priest.

  • Having had my fingers burnt contributing to capital projects that have ended up and are ending up in the liberal domain, I would strongly urge a Pay As You Go approach to meeting the costs of priests and parishes.

And who is to say that supporters of the Resistance will not get their fingers burnt? Publication of an income and expenditure account from time to time would be handy. An insert on a Resistance site says that 800 Dollars was spent on a hand made Thurible. What need for this?

The rebel SSPX priest Fr. Joseph Pfeiffer will visit Ireland this week. There is hardly anything to chose between the SSPX-Resistance and the SSPX-Regular. Like his former boss Daniel Couture, Pfeiffer is a great fund raiser. $$PX x 2
