It must be a risky business today for the top brass speaking directly to the great unwashed in case the latter should ask awkward questions. This is the case at company annual general meetings and politicians 'meeting the people'. To counter this there is an active industry in being scripting the event beforehand without making it appear so. Audiences can be selected and questions controlled. And it pays to have management groupies sporting threatening demeanours scattered among the crowd to handle 'trouble makers'. Very scientific .... but could this be the future of visiting head office dignataries even in the docile religious field?
