https://nonpossumus-vcr.blogspot.com/2019/09/hacia-el-acuerdo-el-obispo-de-la.htmlMonday, September 23, 2019TOWARDS THE AGREEMENT: THE BISHOP OF THE DIOCESE IN WHICH THE ECONE SEMINAR IS FOUND, MAKES IMPORTANT GRANTING TO THE FSSPX
Bishop Charles Morerod, of the diocese in which the Econe seminary is located, accessing a request from the FSSPX, has authorized the Fraternity to make use of certain temples of his diocese, giving these two reasons: 1 ) “The relationship has been made more flexible” between Rome and the SSPX because of the agreement on marriages . 2) "It is an act of ecuмenism."
It should be noted that this prelate, who is seen as “conservative”, is or was a member of GREC (as reported by Fr. Lelong in his book "For the necessary reconciliation" ) and he was also a member of the theological commission for the Rome-FSSPX talks that took place about 10 years ago.
This was published in 2015, in relation to Bishop Moredod and another prelate:
Appointments very timely in Switzerland!
The Secretum Meum Mihi site (...) has made this analysis quite realistic: It emphasizes that traditional-looking bishops are being appointed to key positions in Switzerland, and that these same bishops have all the sympathy of Ménzingen. Everything is done, logically concludes the article, to make the relations between the SSPX and the conciliar church more fluid.
The accordion machine advances his pawns every day ...
(Read the entry from which the appointment was taken) Source (underlined added by NP) Mons. Charles Morerod allows the traditionalist Priestly Fraternity San Pío X to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its foundation in the Bourguillon chapel and in the church of San Mauricio, in the old town of Freiburg.
Charles Morerod, bishop of Lausanne, Geneva and Freiburg, grants a special derogation to his 2013 decree , which prohibits the provision of places of worship in the diocese for the celebrations of the San Pío X Fraternity. The San Pío X Priestly Fraternity remains separate of the Roman Catholic Church.
"Unique concession"
Bishop accepted the request of the SSPX for several reasons, explained to cath.ch Laure-Christine Grandjean, spokesman for the diocese. On the one hand, the relationship has been relaxed, in particular by the letter of the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei of March 27, 2017, which regulates the marriage of the parishioners of the Fraternity .
The bishop declares that this is a unique concession. Finally, it is "really problematic not to accept the St. Pius X Fraternity, while we do it for other Christian denominations." So it is an act of ecuмenism .
However, according to Grandjean, the bishop emphasizes: "What is a reason for joy for the Fraternity St. Pius X is not for the Roman Catholic Church, because the division is not something happy."
It is not the first permit
According to Heinrich Mörgeli, priest of the St. Pius X Fraternity in Enney, it is important to be able to celebrate Jubilee in Freiburg. The first seminarians had gathered there in the fall of 1969, before the official foundation of the Brotherhood in 1970.
According to Mörgeli, it is not the first time that the Fraternity St. Pius X receives permission to celebrate. He has already celebrated his pilgrimage twice on August 1 in Freiburg. There was also a celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Fraternity. " The bishop only asked us not to do propaganda abroad , not to provoke the parishioners of Freiburg and to avoid any in temptation of appropriation. " Prohibition since 2013
Priests of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X are prohibited from using Roman Catholic churches and chapels for any priestly ministry, especially the administration of the sacraments. This is confirmed by a decree of January 20, 2013 by Mons. Charles Morerod, bishop of Lausanne, Geneva and Freiburg. The same prohibition applies to non-Christian religious communities. On the other hand, for reasons of pastoral need, churches can be provided for Christian Catholics, Reformed Evangelicals, Lutherans, Orthodox and Anglicans. The decree of Bishop Morerod implements a resolution of the Swiss Episcopal Conference on the use of Catholic churches and chapels.
