40 years later, the Rhine still flows into the Tiber!
The German intellectual movement influencing the FSSPX
The Revolution in the Catholic Church: these are always the same methods ...
"After this election, it was hardly difficult to see which group was organized enough to take the lead. The Rhine had begun to throw itself into the Tiber. "(Ralph Wiltgen, svd, The Rhine flows into the Tiber, the unknown council , Ed. Cedar, 1974, page 19).
For several months, a few clerks well placed in the governing bodies of the FSSPX are very active in the "operations of rapprochement with Rome", either by acting directly with the Vatican, or by preparing the faithful to the Rally to Ratzinger, including France, thanks to the media they control for a long time ( Fideliter , DICI , ...). We also know that direct meetings took place between Bishop Fellay and Abbots Ratzinger or Hoyos, for certain secret outfits for the faithful. As for the long monologue of the Superior General of the FSSPX in Saint-Nicolas-du-Chardonnet last December 10, he has scrambled the tracks ... and stretched a curtain of smoke in front of compromises on the march and silences accomplices. It seems that the same fall asleep tactics prevailed onst February at the Flavigny meeting with religious communities and the next day when taking cassock.
Thus, we did not hear the FSSPX denounce the study of a "Catholic divorce" by a Cardinal Curie [1] any more than the delusional praise of the nєω ωσrℓ∂ σr∂єr made by Ratzinger at Christmas, or to emphasize that the last encyclical Deus is Caritas which has just been published is more of tantrism than of Catholicism. Bishop Fellay has recently benefited from two journalistic complicit interviews to which Archbishop Lefebvre was never entitled: the first in front of the AJIR (association of religious information journalists) at the Maison de la Radio on January 13, in which Mgr. Fellay compared the conciliar Church to a "zoo" (AFP telegram), the second in a Croix , very accommodating too. Whenthe Revolution opens its media to you complacently, there is reason to question the complicity or the instrumentalization. All have noticed the contradiction between the words of Bishop Fellay in La Croix and Flavigny: when does he say the truth?
This file aims to better identify the foreign environment whose ideas influence these "steps": German academics with dubious theology or even outright heresy, close to Ratzinger long, in the midst of which evolve the Abbot Schmidberger and Bishop Fellay . Once again, these are not allegations but, unfortunately, facts.
For the comprehension of our readers, it is necessary to know that many people - in particular the laity - that we will evoke gravitate in the middle of the public faculties of classical letters and theology - supported in Germany by the State -, in liaison with the representatives of the Catholic Church of Germany, itself very close to Protestant circles. Ecuмenism, especially through church "academies" founded with American finances after the Second World War, is very powerful in Germany and this leads either to a real syncretism or a setting aside of "truths that anger ". Father Ratzinger, an expert at the Council and a renowned intellectual, knows these circles well as they know him. That facilitates contacts. It seems that Father Schmidberger, the SSPX.

Let's also add that although several French people have shared these activities across the Rhine, no one has ever talked about them in France. Why ? France is also on the Rhine and as in the Council some French have the right to share, in the greatest secrecy, the works "on the banks of the Rhine". Why ? Who has the right to come? Why do not they then talk about it in the magazines where they work? We let the three bishops and readers answer these questions.

The main characters of the German intellectual movement.
Professor Barth, the man of the "Reform Reform" encouraged by Ratzinger
First of all, Professor Heinz- othar BARTH ( www.kath.net/detail.php?id=7613 ).
http://www.fsspx.info/special/index.php?page=6&show=&id=img1126175592 .
Doctor of Letters and Lecturer in Classics at the University of Bonn, he attended the Bonn Priory of the SSPX. He has enough weight to write in the Rundbrief for a Priesterfreunde , the ettre to our brother priests in German (see n ° 9 of 27 April 2005 [2] ). He is considered a leading intellectual in the circles of tradition in Germany, a bit like the late Michael Davies for the Anglo-Saxon circles ofthe tradition.
Dr. Barth published [3] in 1999 at Una Voce a book on the Canon of Hippolytus: ( Die Mär vom antiken Kanon Hippolytos). [4]
He made himself particularly known by writing on April 6, 2003 to the one who was only Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith asking him to commit "to a wider authorization of the ancient Roman rite". The 'Father Ratzinger replied by letter of 23 June following. The essential part of the letter is this:
"In the future, the Roman church will not have that ONE SEU THE RITE ; the existence of two rites is difficult for bishops and priests to handle. The Roman rite of the future should be a single rite, celebrated in Latin or in popular language , but based entirely on the tradition of the ancient rite; it could incorporate some new elements that have been proven , some prefaces, wider readings - more choices than before, but not too much - an "Oratio fidelium", that means a litany of intercessory prayers after the Oremus before the offertory, where is his original place (...) Very much esteemed Dr. Barth, if you commit yourself to the liturgical question, you will not be alone and you will prepare the "public opinion of the church" for possible measures in favor of a wider use of textbooks. ancient liturgical ". However, one must be cautious about the excitement of too great, maximum hopes among the faithful attached to tradition.

Very revealing detail, this letter has disappeared from the website of the SSPX in Germany. Could it be that the instruction was given to remove such an embarrassing docuмent for the rallying negotiations? To our knowledge, this docuмent has never been broadcast in France.
THIS IS THE REFORM OF THE REFORM THAT THE ABBE RATZINGER ASKS TO PROFESSOR BARTH TO VEHICULATE IN THE RANKS OF THE TRADITION.
In order to become fully aware of the international spread of these ideas, let us recall that the "reform of the reform" was first mentioned by Father Ratzinger in 1995, in a conversation with Robert Moynihan, director of Inside the Vatican . Then it was then launched by the Anglican medium of Radical Orthodoxy in Cambridge. Catherine Pickstock, an Anglican welcomed in Ecclesia Dei circles, became the relay. The thought of Radical Orthodoxy is relayed in France by Denis Sureau, head of Editions de l'Homme Nouveau . The magazine Catholica, where the Abbot Claude Barthe collaborates, also published in 1999 articles of Radical Orthodoxy. And in France, Abbé Barthe has for years been promoting the "Reform Reform". The last major media initiative of Father Claude Barthe was conducted in November 2005 with the German writer Martin Mosebach, who was also invited by the Saint Paul Center of the Abbot of Tanoüarn and by Radio-Courtoisie. This tour of the German writer in Paris preceded by three weeks the arrival of Bishop Fellay in France for the Centenary of Archbishop Lefebvre on 10 and 11 December 2005.
Very concretely, this design claimed by Abbot Ratzinger in 2003, means that, if he signed with Rome, Bishop Fellay would accept, irreversibly and inevitably, the medium-term abandonment of the Mass of Saint Pius V, in favor of a unified, half-traditional, mid-modernist artificial rite which would then become the obligatory single rite of the entire "Roman Church" to which the "apostolic administration" of the SSPX would belong, of which all property and members would be controlled by the Rome apostate.
The faithful and the abbots who are faithful to Archbishop Lefebvre and his fight for the Mass always must be well aware of this unavoidable fact .
CONSEQUENTLY AND IN ALL LOGIC, THE SIGNATURE WITH ROME EQUIVUT AT THE END OF THE MASS OF ALWAYS.
Unlike whispered speech here or there, The E COMBAT THE A MASS IS LOST.
Professor Barth, through his responsibilities at the University of Bonn, has many contacts with the conciliar. During the summer of 2005, he organized a liturgical symposium in which Bishop Fellay, a Dominican from Avrillé, presided over ... Abbot Schmidberger ( http://www.fsspx.info/special/index.php?page=0&show= & id = img1126175592 ).
Professor Barth and Abbot Schmidberger:

It is always a matter of looking, as Bishop Fellay said to DICI in July 2005, and finding "an oral agreement" with Rome. Agreement that goes through the reform of the reform.
This is probably the reason why Professor Barth refuses what he calls "  infallibilism, extreme papalism, papolatry ..." which is none other than the ordinary universal Magisterium of the Church, an irreformable magisterium, certain and continuous, despite the errors on the subject spread by SI SI NO NO and the SSPX, as proven by the study of Father Marchiset.
Professor Barth has direct access to Menzingen.
Jens Mersch, man of Roman and international contacts
In close connection with Professor BARTH, there is a second character, Jens MERSCH, a layman from the conciliar circles and close to the Angelicuм, the theological faculty of the Dominicans at the Vatican. Jens MERSCH is the founder of a monthly Die kirchliche Umschau ( www.kirchliche-umschau.de ), whose correspondence in France is assured by the magazine Certitudes of the Abbot of Tanoüarn. The newspaper also has an Argentine edition, "Panorama catolico" www.pricolosa.com/panorama_catolico.htm ).
Jens Mersch in conversation:
http://www.fsspx.info/special/index.php?page=10&show=&id=img1126189426
The magazine Fideliter (No. 161, September-October 2004, page 76) mentioned in an article on "living Latin" the name of MERSCH. The latter has, in fact, organized in August 2004 in a school of the FSSPX Schönenberg, a symposium on living Latin, whose promoter is in France Dominique Viain [5] , professor at the Institute Saint Pie X. Symposium attended by Dominicans of Avrillé, a Capuchin of Morgon, Benedictines of Bellaigue - including Brother Bernard de Menthon, former Abbot Rulleau of the FSSPX, master of novices, whose hostility to scholasticism has been known since his passage to Econe - but also members of the German conciliar clergy and German non-Catholic students.
Participants in the Latin living symposium: Fr Rulleau, Dominicans, ...

An ideal international coverage to have advanced theological discussions and spread instructions? Anyway, and even if it starts from a good intention (to make Latin known) the "ecuмenical" atmosphere of these meetings of intellectuals is the opposite of the spirit and the fight of the whole the life of Archbishop Lefebvre on this subject .
Jens Mersch also takes part in the same conference rooms as Father Ratzinger, for example on May 29, 2002 at Domus Ecclesiae , he questions Father Gumpel, a Roman Jesuit. This last character, in charge of the cause of Pius XII, is complacently put forward in Rome to converse with people attracted bythe tradition. The conferences of Father Ratzinger frame the intervention of Jens Mersch in this cenacle. Jens Mersch has distinguished himself in the defense of Pius XII.

Like BARTH, MERSCH has permanent direct access to Menzingen.
David Berger, a 'Thomitan' Ratzinguerian
David BERGER, who became a professor of dogmatic theology in 2005, is also corresponding professor of the Pontifical Academy of Saint Thomas since 2003 and since October 2005, knight of Jasna Gora (the great Marian Marian shrine where John Paul II went in his travels as Pope in Poland). His works are distributed in the priories of the FSSPX in Germany. For him, the Church can reform the form and the material of the sacraments, except baptism and the Eucharist! This is how Berger talks about the FSSPX in one of his recent books www.kath.net/detail.php?id=12554 ): "Eine Lösung im Sinne eines vollkommenen Abspaltungen etwa"
MERSCH and BARTH are in close contact with a young German secular Thomist, David BERGER, director of the journal Theologisches ( www.theologisches.net ), in which BARTH writes. The magazine has as an editorial line to defend Vatican II, nothing but Vatican II ... which is the Ratlingerian line par excellence. MERSCH, for its part, also attends the catholic faculty of Leuven (whose ultra-progressive positions are known).
Dr. Kaschewsky (Una voce), a supporter of Adda and Mari's anaphora
Another character, Dr. KASCHEWSKY, President of UNA VOCE Germany, the only national section (of this international organization for the defense of Gregorian chant that rallied in 1988) to support the FSSPX, but against its ex- friends Barth and Mersch, Kaschewsky defends and makes defend by this organization, the anaphor of Addai and Mari, that is to say the mass without words of consecration recognized valid by John Paul II! A friend of Mersch, Ulrich NERSINGER, current world president of UNA VOCE is, according to reliable sources, a famous Vaticanist.
This collaboration of Dr. Barth and J. Mersch with Dr. Karschewsky lasted until the latter defended the anaphor of Addai and Mari.
BARTH, MERSCH and KASCHEWSKY frequent the priory of Bonn, where they regularly see the Abbot Schmidberger, they write in the media of the Fraternity in Germany, and they intervene in its colloquia where their positions are listened to and followed ... by Bishop Fellay. Such companionship inevitably leads to an influence of the ideas of this movement (of the 'Ratzinguerian' type) on the SSPX.
Beyerhaus, Solovyov's Protestant 'Bishop' Follower of Pan-Ecuмenism
Through each other, it is a continuous red thread that appears, connecting Ratzinger, Schmidberger and Fellay, who does not miss even a "true" Protestant, Peter BEYERHAUS, "Pietist bishop" German, member of the Order Saint Jean, the main Protestant charity organization in Germany, and a member of the Ecuмenical Movement of Lausanne [6] .
P. BEYERHAUS, of whom the Abbot Schmidberger long sought contact and whom he met, is at the head of a "Saints Peter and Paul Fraternity", in which he took up the ecuмenical heresy of Wladimir Soloviev, developed in the second half of the XIX th century by the latter, that it must bring the Catholic Church, the Eastern schismatics and Protestantism (actually Anglicans), including the liturgical rites, facing the imminent coming of the Antichrist.
The "divino-christianism" of Soloviev, admired by de Lubac or Hans Urs von Balthasar, comes directly from Gnosis:
"The normal relationship in humanity between Divinity and nature, this relationship to which the person of Christ has come (...) must become the characteristic of all humanity as the body of Christ. "Faith in God, traditional, and faith in Christ modern man, carried to the end, will join in the one truth, full and integral of divino-humanity. "
(see www.editionsducerf.fr/html/fiche/ficheresume.asp?N_LIV_CERF=2162 ).
BEYERHAUS, if he refuses ecuмenism with all the religions Assisi version, is nonetheless, in favor of an ecuмenism "among Christians" ..., panchristianism which is the object of the condemnation of Pius XI, in Mortalium animos .
Mrs. von Stockhausen, Scotist, and the Gustav Siewerth Academy
P.BEYERHAUS (www.institut-diakrisis.de/pbeyerhaus.html) writes in the journal Theologisches by David BERGER and is Professor at the Gustav Siewerth Academy, whose current director, Alma von Stockhausen, is a Scotist (Dun Scott's theology) (the 'subtle doctor', who allows certain excesses, and who affirms, against St. Thomas Aquinas, the primacy of the will over the reason and independence of philosophy in relation to theology.) Jens MERSCH was a student in this academy which had among its founders ... Father Ratzinger The Academy, which has existed for years1960, was recognized by the German State in 1989.
Extract from the site.
This academy aims to train in philosophy, sociology and journalism by developing a "competitive contemporary anthropology" acceptable by modern Catholic dogma, all errors condemned since the Syllabus and more recently by Pius XII in the encyclical Humani generis . Here is the program of this academy:
http://www.siewerth-akademie.de/dokumente/Verzeichnis.pdf
This program reflects a conception in which anthropology becomes the norm of dogma, and is inspired by Husserl and Edith Stein. The Academy offers lectures on Henri de Lubac, Gustav Siewerth and Hans Urs von Balthasar.
http://www.gustav-siewerth.de/
We also report Professor Dr. Georg May, priest. Here is his bibliography: http://teol.de/nopublic/bi-may.htm
His work is the basis of the canonical argument of the FSSPX. And his arguments were taken up by Dr. Rudolf Kaschewsky, just after the 1988 coronation, to justify a "state of emergency against the legitimate Church". We note that although he criticized the rite of the Order, he never studied the new rite of episcopal consecration.
Conclusion
In conclusion, one can only be struck, to the knowledge of this information duly cross-checked and exclusive that we deliver to our readers, by the three characteristics of this German intellectual movement:
his long-standing connections with Ratzinger, in the "reform reform lens",
the direct and direct contacts that the Abbé Schmidberger and Mgr. Fellay maintain with these more than doubtful circles on the doctrinal level,
the closing of Gnostic ecuмenism and Anglicanism which falls in the background of all this, according to the plan of the Anglican community.
The other three bishops (Bishop Tissier de Mallerais, Bishop Williamson and Bishop de Galaretta) do not appear in the symposiums of this movement, we deduce that in fact, they are marginalized and marginalized. This speaks volumes about the respect of the OF ETTER MISSION addressed by Bishop efebvre future bishops before their 1988 coronation.
Be that as it may, this German movement of the SSPX, the Rhine that throws Tradition into the poisoned Tiber of Rome at Vatican II, has a high-level influence on a SSPX whose founder and most of the struggle was made and in France - France which has the legitimacy of its divine election, as Saint Pius X has repeatedly said, which is not the case of a Germany worked by the spirit of Luther .
This influence has blurred the role of France in the work of Archbishop Lefebvre, while the French abbots represent a third of the abbots, the founder Archbishop Lefebvre is French and France, faithful to his divine mission received by Clovis, when of his coronation by Saint Remy, and by the miraculous gift of Saint Ampoule [7] , is at the forefront of the fight of Catholic Tradition in the world. This has never been the case in Germany. Let us remember only the prophecy of St. Pius X, the texts of Cardinal Pie, the apparitions to St. Margaret Mary at Paray-Le-Monial.
This German influence has produced a situation that is likely to be translated in the weeks or months to come by long-term decisions in Germany, to which the priests and faithful of the FSSPX in France and elsewhere, will, as at the Council, to submit or against which they will have to fight ...

"Very esteemed Dr. Barth,
I thank you for your letter of April 6th, to which I reply only now, for lack of time. You ask me to commit to the wider authorization of the ancient Roman rite. You already know that I welcome such a request, since my engagement in this matter is now known to everyone.
If the Holy See "authorizes the old rite again worldwide and without limitation" - as you wish and heard it by rumor - is not so easy to say: Too many Catholics still share a negative attitude - indoctrinated for years - towards the traditional liturgy, which they proudly call "pre-conciliar", and many bishops would massively oppose a general authorization of the ancient rite.
The situation is different if we only consider a limited authorization; because the demand of the ancient liturgy is limited. I know that its value does not depend on demand, but the number of priests and laity involved is of some importance. In addition, such a measure can only be achieved gradually today, some thirty years after the liturgical reform of Pope Paul VI; a new precipitation will not produce good results.
But I believe that in the future the Roman Church will have only one rite; the existence of two rites is hardly "manageable" for bishops and priests. The Roman rite of the future should be a single rite, celebrated in Latin or in popular language , but based entirely on the tradition of the ancient rite; it could incorporate some new proven elements , some prefaces, wider readings - more choices than before, but not too much - an "Oratio fidelium", ie a litany of prayers from intercession after the Oremus before the offertory, where is its primitive place.
Highly esteemed Dr. Barth, if you commit yourself thus to the liturgical question, you will not be alone and you prepare "the public opinion of the Church" for possible measures in favor of a wider use of the ancient liturgical manuals. However, we must be cautious about the excitement of hopes too great, maximum , with the faithful attached to the tradition.
I am using this opportunity to thank you for your appreciable commitment to the liturgy of the Roman Church, in your books and conferences, although I would like here and there more love and understanding for the magisterium of the Pope and the bishops. May the seed, which you sow, grow and bear fruit for a renewed new life of the Church, whose "source and summit", her true heart, is and will be this liturgy.
I gladly give you the blessing requested by you, cordially
Your
Josef Cardinal RATZINGER
