This fr. Daniel cooper?-“We must obey Bp. I did bring this up on another thread and don't know if I saw a reply.Nearly ALL the Traditional bishops (SSPX, SV, Resistance, +Thuc line, etc.) wield croziers, which I have read to be a sign of the jurisdiction he has over his flock, and typically shouldn't even be used outside his diocese.
Some turn it towards themselves in relation to this: https://mobile.twitter.com/engl1shtradcat/status/1531623780291846145
Huh. Never knew this. Source?
The crosier is symbol of authority and jurisdiction.
The Catholic Caeremoniale Episcoporum says that, as a sign of his pastoral function, a bishop uses a crosier within his territory, but any bishop celebrating the liturgy solemnly with the consent of the local bishop may also use it.
Just a lot of picutres I've seen with bishops holding croziers (also spelled crosiers).Catholic Encyclopedia:Then from Wikipedia (couldn't find another source for this yet):
I checked SSPX.org, and I don’t see any news on any priest being transferred. Maybe those who attend the local missions or Priories can chime in. I think the SSPX is ordaining only one priest this year.
I see the list of transfers on local bulletins, but I have not seen one nationally. I know they do post where each priest is residing etc. Maybe there is such a list. I just have not come across it.
I don't know which is worse, this comment or the fact that it got 3 thumbs up. Firstly, nobody's saying that this is a normal situation, but - newsflash! - we're in a Church crisis that is unprecedent in all of Church history. Secondly, the SSPX "superiors" are as much superiors of these priests as if they had none. Being able to function as a superior derives from the jurisdiction of the Church, period. So there's not a lick of real difference between an independent SSPX priest, a Resistance priest like Father Chazal, or any SSPX who pretends he has a superior.
Just a question on this....If the SSPX is not alleging they are pastors of parishes, why do they state they ARE pastors of parishes in their bulletins?I believe it is deceptive.
