"We are not nice, We are not understanding"
« on: Yesterday at 11:36:59 AM »
"One of the great crises of our times is the lack of charity. People think charity means being nice, being understanding. That's what fαɢɢօts do. We are not nice and we're not understanding. Charity means to love God and love his creation. To love his creation, fulfilling the purpose for (0:21) which he made it, which is to give him glory."

Literal insanity.

You cannot show charity if you do not also show understanding.   Understanding is a component of charity -- how else do you have prudence or wisdom about how to approach someone or their situation?

How do you love God's creation -- of which Man is the pinnacle -- without loving the people He created?

Sometimes trads are so out-of-the-box their minds fall out.

Should there be concrete action -- corporal and spiritual works of mercy -- connected to our charity?   Yes of course.   But understanding a situation precedes performing works or deeds of mercy, because without understanding one would have no way to know how to approach or apply the works of mercy to another person.

Charity loves the sinner but hates the sin; a “charity” that refuses to oppose sin or error is not charity but indifference to the destruction of souls. Charity in Catholic theology is not merely being agreeable or psychologically understanding someone’s situation. Charity is the supernatural virtue by which we love God above all things and love our neighbor for God’s sake and for the salvation of his soul.

St. Thomas Aquinas:
Quote
“Charity cannot exist together with unbelief.”
 (Summa Theologiae, II-II, q.23, a.2)
Scripture states plainly:
Quote
“Without faith it is impossible to please God.” — Hebrews 11:6
Because charity is a supernatural virtue infused by God, it presupposes the theological virtue of Faith.

If you don't even know how to go to heaven, (because you don't have the true faith), how could you ever have true Charity?

Any advice you would give, because of your ignorance, would risk damning others to hell if they followed it. Imagine trying to navigate the seas without a map, and telling others how to navigate the seas, but with an inaccurate map that can potentially send people to their deaths! This is your situation.

The insanity is trying to give others advice when you, yourself, are not even in a good position to give advice.

First, you need to have the true faith, then you can work on how to help others go to heaven. Otherwise, you are putting the cart before the horse.
