Reports have been received from Ecône that Bishop Fellay announced to around 100 seminary professors, seminarians and priests from France including its District Superior Fr. de Cacqueray, that he - and therefore all those that followed his line and policy - had been utterly deceived by Benedict XVI and NewVatican.

Bishop Fellay is reported to have stated that all six conditions arrived at during the process of bitter arguing and line by line voting at the General Chapter - three termed as essential, and three previously termed as desirable - must now become absolutely essential conditions.

Furthermore, Bishop Fellay is reported to have stated that there will not be any more discussion or attempted negotiated settlement with Benedict or his NewVatican representatives until and unless there exists an obvious and true conversion of the pope and NewVatican to the Catholic Faith in its traditional integrity.

Official announcements and explanations giving more detail are expected in the weeks to come.

Let's wait for the official pronouncement (hopefully with his resignation) but whoever knows Dumb Ox should know he's not about rumors and has proved this many times.

Fair enough, however, if +Fellay and his followers were "utterly deceived", then those that opposed him were "utterly" right, and should be thanked for sacrificing their positions (comforts, jobs) in defying +Fellay to his face. All those brave priests should be reinstated with an apology.

If this is true, it's awesome. But now Bishop Fellay needs to apologise to the other three Bishops, especially +Williamson, and also needs to apologise to the priests he kicked out (Pheiffer, Cardozo, Chazal, etc) and offer to let them back in. And finally, he needs to apologise to all the SSPXers and SSPX chapel-goers for this soap opera.

If His Grace was deceived once he may be deceived again. I am nobody to tell him what to do but I think that new elections should take place.

If His Grace and the office help have been deceived, they should be replaced. Urgently.

Very true, but he's already executed the "Sede" attack against any of his critics.
Will he be man enough to admit his mistakes?

But how do you ever begin to repair the harm done to the likes of Fathers Pfeiffer, Chazal, etc? I fear some fences cannot be mended...........

How can +Fellay or his personal-loyalists possibly maintain their previous hard line against the now-vindicated critics?

Perhaps Bishop Fellay can repair the damage done to the SSPX by this Rome deal making by not expelling Fr. Joseph Pfeiffer and others and also offering the Priests already expelled back into the SSPX.
