I've met the other three SSPX bishops, but have not had the honor of meeting H.E. Bishop Williamson. What a great warrior he is . . . and with a sense of humor to boot!!! This is a man who can take a punch--in fact, several--and laugh it all off. Thin-skinned he definitely is not! God bless him!!!

I would recommend that you owe it to yourself to look for the next opportunity
to meet him.  You will be pleasantly surprised.  He came to an independent
chapel in my area many years ago, when the SSPX was still a reasonable image
of what it had been under ABL.  He gave a sermon on the occasion of
confirmations that was without question the most powerful sermon I had ever
heard in my life.  When he was through with that, I had then lived to hear
what a real bishop sounds like.  And after Mass he posed for photographs with
everyone who waited in line, which were quite a few.  He was very easy to
talk to.  And always a lively sense of humor.  I have to wonder how many such
appearances he has made over the years.  He just made another one in Brazil
a few weeks ago.  How fortunate all those people all over the world have been
to have his personal attention and counsel.

I just realized that I'm having an emotional reaction to the calumnies and
pretentious drivel his critics have said about him in the quotes he provides.

Someone should write his biography before it's too hard to collect the stories.
I'm sure he would make himself available for someone who is qualified.

Yeah, the Jansenism charge was particularly interesting.
There's a "we are Church" attitude, especially among some of the
French members of the SSPX.

I have heard many SSPX priests say that the SSPX is "the Guardian of the Faith".
Who appointed them for this role?  Pride goes before the fall.
Now that the cracks of resistence are starting to show,  the "Guardians" are showing true cult tactics to control the Sheep.  Obey.......or be expelled.

Thank you for that wise advice, Neil Obstat. I will definitely keep a lookout for him! . . . With what clarity Bishop Williamson speaks and writes. The intellectual/spiritual heavy-weight that he is, I have not once walked away confused or scratching my head after listening to his many recorded lectures or reading his brilliant pieces. A photo-op one day a definite plus!
