    It's also called "cherry picking" quotes.

    Specifically, "cherry picking" results in a different impression than if you would have read the WHOLE thing in context.

    • I seem recall a Resistance group from around the year 2012 called the...."SSPX of the Strict Observance," or something like that, but the name didn't last. Was this Fr. Pfeiffer's group? It's an odd name, and not one that +ABL would likely have approved of, IMO.

    Yes, it was Fr. Pfeiffer’s group, but he did not come up with the name.  Someone else with an ax to grind with the SSPX from way before 2012 began using that name online without consulting Fr. Pf.  Yes, it’s a bizarre name supposed to sound pious. Someone else with better judgment convinced Fr. Pf. to get rid of it.
