Quo Vadis DICI..?

Okay, this is great stuff.

Quote from: The Recusant
Note that he says explicitly, not only 'freedom from,' but positively 'freedom for'...! That is, freedom to practise publicly, to advertise a false religion publicly, to seek to make converts, etc. Nowhere in his message does he say, imply or even hint that this applies only to the CATHOLIC religion; on the contrary, it is abundantly clear that Benedict XVI is here speaking about any or all religions.

How many times have I said recently that you have to look for what is
NOT being said in the words of +Fellay?  Well looky here:  from whom is he
taking his lessons?  From his master, that's whom!

I’d really like to read this and see the point, see the connection, see the proof,
But I have to go look it up???   WWWAAAAAAA!  :baby:

Don’t be surprised:   that’s how too many readers think.  So what did I do?
I went and looked it up.  DUUUH.  You go to the Vatican website, and there
you’re faced with a three-foot long page of Vat.II-speak, otherwise known
as:

MESSAGE OF HIS HOLINESS
POPE BENEDICT XVI
FOR THE CELEBRATION OF THE
WORLD DAY OF PEACE
1 JANUARY 2013

BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS

And THEN, (and this is the trick!) you skip the next 1,904 words, to arrive
at the paragraph that is the one you need.  Why?   The rest doesn’t
matter?  Well, let’s just say, it’s not important right now, okay?

Do the homework, or just read this post, because I did the homework for
you!!

It seems to me that now it's time for Fr. Pfeiffer et. al. to translate this into
American English.  I have no problem with the meat and substance of this
article, but unfortunately I think it's going to be lost on the pedestrian
consciousness of the average Joe in this country.  And Fr. Joe Pfeiffer
is no average Joe!

Take this one paragraph fragment:

Quote from: The Recusant
Not only does the DICI article dealing with the Pope's 2013 "World Day of Peace" address not condemn or correct this blatantly false, heterodox and  - dare we say it? heretical - teaching by Benedict XVI, it doesn't even make any reference to it or even mention it in passing! In fact, it spends a lot of time talking about virtually every other thing which he spoke about or mentioned. Worse still, although they do mention briefly, and in a somewhat convoluted way that religious liberty is not a good thing, even this is only spoken of in relation to other people (Fr. Lombardi), but pointedly not the Pope, who (as is clear from his words) is if anything a bigger proponent of Religious Liberty than anyone!

That's all well and good, and I realize we're expected to do the homework
to back this up, but really, how many are going to bother with that?  Each
mouse click required loses another 20% of the readership!  And a Vat.II-
speak long form speech?  One that's going to take 20 minutes to read?
And we're supposed to read the whole thing, looking for two or four words
that give away the spot in question?

How about this:  I'll just post the section here and we can read it:

Quote from: Vatican website
One of the fundamental human rights, also with reference to international peace, is the right of individuals and communities to religious freedom. At this stage in history, it is becoming increasingly important to promote this right not only from the negative point of view, as freedom from – for example, obligations or limitations involving the freedom to choose one’s religion – but also from the positive point of view, in its various expressions, as freedom for – for example, bearing witness to one’s religion, making its teachings known, engaging in activities in the educational, benevolent and charitable fields which permit the practice of religious precepts, and existing and acting as social bodies structured in accordance with the proper doctrinal principles and institutional ends of each. Sadly, even in countries of long-standing Christian tradition, instances of religious intolerance are becoming more numerous, especially in relation to Christianity and those who simply wear identifying signs of their religion.

It seems to me that Americans I know need to hear something more like
this:

When the Pope, the Vicar of Christ, addresses the world on a topic
so important as religious liberty, a good Catholic would expect that His
Holiness would have nothing but solid doctrine to convey, as did many
of his not-too-distant predecessors.  But what do we get, instead?
Do we get a "World Day of Peace" address that announces that religious
liberty, as such, is not a good thing for the world?  Far from it!

What we get is the drivel of the world’s top dog on the PROMOTION
Of the BLATANT HERESY of religious liberty.  Oh, not just maybe.
But OPENLY, and SPECIFICALLY, heretical.  That’s right, heretical.
But what kind of heresy?  Is it formal?  Well, no.  It’s material.  As
Bishop Williamson said just the other day, “It’s really difficult to be
A formal heretic in today’s world.”   What we have here is a Pope
With a MUSH MIND speaking nonsense, which in this case is heresy,
but it’s nonsense just the same.  He says that people of false religions
have explicitly the right to 'freedom from' obligations or limitations
involving the freedom to have their own religion of their own choosing,
AND, not only that, he said that they ALSO have the positive, natural
and human right to 'freedom for' the practice of their false religion
publicly
, to advertise their false religion publicly, to seek to make
converts to their false religion publicly
, to make publicly known the
false teachings of their respective false religions
, and to set up and
freely operate the social and political structures that any and every
false religion may deem appropriate for the public practice of their
respective false creeds
!

Then, as if to rub SALT INTO THE GAPING WOUND that he just finished
HACKING into the flesh of the Mystical Body of Christ, he has the
TEMERITY to say:

“Sadly, even in countries of long-standing Christian tradition,
instances of religious intolerance are becoming more numerous,
especially in relation to Christianity and those who simply wear
identifying signs of their religion.”

IOW:  It's the litany of apologies again for all the terrible things the
Immaculate Bride of Christ has done in the past !!!!

Nowhere in his message does he say, imply or even hint that
this principle of freedom applies only to the CATHOLIC religion.
On the contrary, it is abundantly clear that Benedict XVI is here
speaking about the freedoms of any or all religions to do all these
things AS IF
they were bearers of the True Faith of Catholics.

Just let me know if there is any WORSE way this speech could have
been worded, so as to more effectively denounce the perennial
teachings of the One True Church outside of which there is no salvation!

...And what does DICI have to say about that?   NOTHING!   They skip
the whole gaping mess.  And they just talk about other things..   Just
like the way that Vatican II was run:  ignore Communism.  Ignore the
single greatest threat to the Church in her history.  Now, DICI is ignoring
the single greatest threat to the Faith of Catholics in her history that has
come from the Pope himself.
