There certainly is mass confusion. Strike the shepherd and the sheep will scatter. It's hard to keep track of all the divisions. Bp Williamson said himself that he has no hopes or desire to try to unite all the priests into one new group, call it "the resistance" or whatnot. We have to pray for them all and understand that each has their own apostolate in their own countries and situations, and we can respect that. I mention Fr. Pfeiffer because he particularly attacks other groups and claims that you must be with him, like he is single handedly called to save the church. There is a lot of pride there and doubt on whether he is really a bishop. Fr./Bp. Ballini seems to be doing his own thing in Ireland. You have Bp. Stobnicki in Europe doing his own thing and going back to the pre-1955. Fr. Pivert is doing his own thing in France. Bp. Morgan? Fr. Hewko has his own group in America. We have to pray for them all. They are good and generous priests, and understand that when the church regains its head and senses, God willing, the mess will be straightened out.
I agree what Fr. Brocard says, that you need some structure of authority to function as a priest. It is my opinion that the SAJM in Avrille are the most organized and faithful to tradition. I can respect differing opinions, but I am grateful to the SAJM for continuing the fight for tradition and turning out priests for the last 10 years.
You are totally confused.
It is not a sin to say the pre55 Mass. It is a sin for you to suggest it is. I am not saying that the 62 is sinful. But that the Archbishop was not aware that it was designed to be part of the whole Novus Ordo plan, but it's architect. We only found out later.
Going to the pre 55 is simply about prudence, not about being disobedient. Because saying the 62 was for a long time disobedient.
It seems to me that many within the SAJM are stuck in their own little worlds of sentimental attachment to Archbishop Lefebvre. Though the good Archbishop would not have wanted that.
As for the independence thing, Bishop Williamson was of the opinion that structures are a waste of time, and that includes priests. It was Bishop Williamson who consecrated the SAJM bishops, and they should be grateful for that. Because it seems they are not. I await their formal statement though.
So the confusion is coming from them, not form Bishops Ballini, Stobnicki, Morgan and Vigano. All of whom Bishop Williamson CHOSE to consecrate with full knowledge, as INDEPENDENT.
Was Bishop Williamson crazy? Is that what you are suggesting?
In fact he was clearly reluctant to give any stamp of approval to the SAJM. He basically had to be roped into it. Because he thought structures were a waste of time.
But no! We needed the French to save us from the darkness of ignorance! INCROYABLE!
