  • My wife bought two cassocks (one white, one black) for Father Pfeiffer. They arrived today. When he next comes to Toronto, he will receive them.

  • So do we, but it won't be January and February is yet unclear. Please pray that his schedule develops an opening.

why does he wear white?  i know its what is done in asia, just wondering.....

The culture of southeast asia pretty much demand a beard and a white cassock as I suppose the priests are instructed.

White cassocks are worn only in the tropics and other hot-weather areas. Priests were dispensed from wearing black cassocks in such areas either by Pius XI or Pius XII. Priests of the SSPX in Asia do not wear the black cassock.
I doubt very much that beards are a cultural thing in Southeast Asia. Very few people, especially urban folk, of that region wear beards. The SSPX as a whole does not go in for beards although these were tolerated for some time in India. When some of the priests were moved to the Philippines I heard they were requested to shave their beards off.

I expect he would especially appreciate the collarless white shirts with French cuffs worn with a rabat or cassock.

Anyone know where those can be bought?

My son likes the ones from Almy.

I believe the custom of white cassocks in many Asian countries has its origin in the simple fact tht it is much cooler in hot weather than a black cassock.
