  • Below is a copy of a letter sent out to a SSPX chapel mailing list.  We believe it is our duty as Catholics to make known to others what the current issues are in the SSPX, and that our true Catholic Faith is still there for those who want to hear it.

    Quote
    Dear Traditional Catholic,

This is a letter for those who are concerned about the changes that have occurred in the teachings of the SSPX.  What changes? What does this mean? What options do I have?

Up until the last 10 years or so the SSPX priests gave strong solid sermons with clear guidance on right and wrong, virtue and sin.  Encouraging us faithful to know our faith by their sermons and recommended reading. With this knowledge one could make a clear and confident decision that attending a SSPX chapel he was being faithful to the true Holy Roman Catholic Church, not a modernist Catholic Church.

Bishop Fellay’s teachings regarding Vatican II’s right to religious liberty
(From: an anonymous friend of TrueTrad.com):

Catholic News Service, CNS, recently interviewed Bishop Fellay.   Although they only released fragments of the interview, those fragments are shocking!   If you have not seen those fragments, watch them now!

For the link  go to www.TRUETRAD.com  see the INFAMOUS CNS INTERVIEW.
Bishop Fellay says: Religious liberty “is used in so many ways. “  listen at minute 1:25 of 6:00. Notice that Bishop Fellay is not condemning the error of religious liberty. He says that this error “is a very, very limited one: very limited!” Bishop Fellay is a bishop of the Catholic Church. Where is his condemnation of this error, which is one of the principal religious errors of our time?

Pope Gregory XVI and Pope Pius IX condemned religious liberty as “insanity”.

By contrast, Bishop Fellay says that there “might be” [!] another principle which would “be more accurate”! Is this a clear defense of the true Catholic Faith and a condemnation of one of the principal religious errors of our time? Or is Bishop Fellay minimizing the consistent teaching of the Catholic Church, and self-censoring, in order to seek harmony with those under whose control he is trying to place the SSPX? After all, Bishop Fellay himself recently said that Pope Benedict XVI “is totally in favor of ecuмenism and religious liberty”

Bishop Fellay’s Doctrinal Preamble presented to Rome April 15, 2012.

The Doctrinal Preamble, attached, is a modernist doctrine accepting the teachings of Vatican II  “in Light of Tradition”, an official doctrine of the SSPX which recognizes the validity of the NEW MASS.   A full explanation of this Preamble can be found at www.CathInfo.com  in a sermon by “Fr. J. Pfeiffer, March 10, 2013, Kansas City.”

More extensive Q & A concerning changes in the SSPX direction can be found in the book, “Is this Operation ѕυιcιdє” by Mr. Stephen J.Fox. It is available free online at   http://isthisoperationѕυιcιdє.wordpress.com/  This book asks and answers questions regarding the recent changes in teachings of the SSPX. Answers are from docuмents from notable SSPX priests. One cannot claim all is well because you refuse to read, listen, or study what is happening in the SSPX in 2012 -2013.

For traditional sermons, news updates, local Mass times and locations by the priests of the Resistance go to www.CathInfo.com  and   www.CathInfo.com

  • As far as I can see it excludes the  Rothschild-Gutmann Money and time frame  of 2012-2013 is too narrow. Priests and laity have been against Bishop Fellay since the 1980s so this should be included in any letter of critique.

Many priests in the SSPX still give "strong solid sermons with clear guidance on right and wrong, virtue and sin." so this part of the letter is weak and Bishop Fellay supporters will correctly challenge you on it.

  • The worldly priests and seminarians at SeaWorld is hardly representative of the SSPX but we have to admit many in the pews are pro-capitalist, "free market" types.

Also no mention of the Lovey connection to the SSPX. There is key information missing in this letter.

  • Actually this letter started out as two pages.  Our perspective is from our direct experience in our SSPX chapel.  Like you said, various chapels are going to experience things differently.  It is a starting point for anyone interested in taking action and was posted as an example.  We asked Father Pfeiffer to review it and then put it out there ASAP.

Thank you for your input.  This may not be the last letter we send.

Are letters necessary and what impact will it have? I cited an example of a woman reading the first part of 'Krahgate' several months after 'William of Norwich' posted it. I have no idea if she read the remaining parts of the open file.

Anybody serious about action should give Bishop Fellay an empty chapel when he visits Ireland and England in a few weeks? That is one thing people should do.

I wouldn't have any interest in circulating the letter as I feel people have made up their mind about Bishop Fellay and a deal. It's not rocket science and a person is either  for a deal or against it. I am not interested in compromise, a middle road, half measures.

  • Update on the letter we sent to our SSPX parish.   We had some positive responses from people.  Some stopped attending the SSPX for the last 6 months because they were fed up with Bishop Fellay and others were happy to hear there was someone else out there that would publicly announce there was a problem.  A few people went to the chapel priest (St. Vincent) to ask for an explanation.  He told them he would go over the letter on Sunday (today) and point out the errors.  However, we had a major snow dump this morning which led to a very low attendance at the SSPX chapel, so explaining the "letter" was going to have to wait.  Instead Fr. Rostand will write a letter.  Roads were horrible this morning so we will have to wait to see if they come to the Resistance Chapel.  Either way, we won't stop letting people have a chance to know what is going on.

BTW:  We spent $200 on stamps, the Good Lord returned in kind.  We received an unexpected check for over the amount in the mail.  Would have done the same either way, as spending the money is a sacrifice well worth making.

Father Hewko encourages all of us to call or write, especially our priests, and ask them to explain the currect crisis in the SSPX, such as the doctrinal preamble.  Father says the Archbishop never hid his talks with Rome.  When he left a meeting right off the start he would start talking to his driver about it.  He also suggested going over the good points Father Dom Thomas De Aquinas had to say, which are on video and texts posted here.
