Fr. Ringrose's chapel / Saint Athanasius Traditional Catholic Church

    • It was brought to my attention a number of weeks ago that the Resistance Affiliated "Saint Athanasius Traditional Catholic Church" is in my immediate area and the Priest there is Father Ringrose. Would any members of this forum happen to know of this place, and a way I could find out the times for Mass and Confessions, and perhaps get involved in this little traditional Catholic community? I know they have a phone number and a Facebook group, but nothing else other than this.

    I would like to start attending the sacraments at this chapel in addition to the Byzantine Rite Ukrainian Parish I've been attending. I feel truly blessed that I have a resistance mass near me in addition to the regular SSPX and the Eastern Rites (which have been my current refuge). 

    I drove to the chapel a few weeks ago just to check it out and it seems like a nice place.

    • Father Ringrose is a great priest.  He has gone SV (or some variety thereof), having come to the realization that R&R is problematic, so I’m not sure how close he is with the Resistance anymore.

    • I have been officially going to St. Athanasius for a Month now, and I feel extremely blessed to have a Resistance Mass in my area. I got to not only expirience my first TLM, but also my first High Mass, and first Pre-55 Holy Week. I even purchased a 1945 Missal form the Chapel's bookstore, since that is what Father Ringrose uses.

    I am friends with the bookstore lady and she mentioned that there was someone new who has been coming to the chapel who is from Cathinfo.  I am guessing that the person she was talking about must have been you.  :popcorn:

    St Athanasius was where I attended my first TLM as well, as well as my first TLM High Mass and pre-1955 Holy Week (assuming Fr Ringrose was using the pre-1955 rites in the late 1980s, I honestly don't remember).  I had previously attended Novus Ordo Latin Masses from time to time, and thought it would be the same, just more elaborated prayers.  I didn't realize it would be almost entirely sotto voce and was quite bewildered by it all.
