Given that June is pride month in the progressive liturgical calendar, the medium is the message, the action is the intent.

Why does it matter who the play was by?

This is a group of girls cross dressing!!!

Yeah, that part I find more disturbing than a play by Oscar Wilde.

That pictures seems repugnant to me.  I think it might have been Bishop de Castro Mayer who said that it was more offensive for a woman to wear pants than to wear a bikini ... or something along those lines, since the former was contrary to nature.

Strangely, there was another Trad Catholic school that did the same thing ... and that was because they didn't have enough kids to play all the roles.  Well, in that case, find another play or do none at all.

I should have ended my Title with a question mark, but there wasn't any additional character space.  That would have been less assuming, so I apologize for that.

Thank you for the clarification. I agree that other plays would be a far better choice, especially for a Catholic school.

Everyman would've been a good choice.

or Joan of Lorraine

or Hamlet

or Merchant of Venice

Many Mennonites and Amish young people are helping run businesses while wealthy traditional Catholic youth participate in worthless plays.

(Who went to see Oscar wilde’s Plays??  The wealthy lazy elite who had too much time on their hands.).  And actor and actresses of the past led immoral lives like those of present day Hollywood or broadway.

Oscar Wilde and his family were wealthy lazy elites.  Wilde's parents were Anglo-Irish intellectuals in Dublin. A young Wilde learned to speak fluent French and German. At university, Wilde read Greats; he demonstrated himself to be an exceptional classicist, first at Trinity College Dublin, then at Oxford. He became associated with the emerging philosophy of aestheticism, led by two of his tutors, Walter Pater and John Ruskin. After university, Wilde moved to London into fashionable cultural and social circles.

(Lazy bored wealthy elites to affairs and ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity. ) most wealthy elites of the past were atheists just like the elites of today.
