Unfortunately the local beekeepers association did not have a booth at the county fair this year, a lady came by the Master Gardener booth looking for them also.  Check with your local cooperative extension office to see what publications they have.  They would know if there is a beekeepers group in your area, and if the land grant university in your state has a bee program and might offer short courses and field days.

Holy Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, today...Instituted by Pius XII 1945 AD.

Beautiful picture of the Sorrowful and Immaculate heart of Mary.

"On the octave of the feast of the Assumption, the Church celebrates the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
This liturgical cult was associated with that of the Sacred Heart of Jesus by St. John Eudes in the 17th century. Two centuries later, Popes Pius VII and Pius IX established a feast in the calendar of the universal Church with a proper Mass and Office.
On October 31 and December 8, 1942, Pope Pius XII consecrated the human race to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Two years later, he established a new office for the Immaculate Heart for the octave day of the Assumption of the Mother of God, August 22."

Excerpt.
"...In addition to lucidity, it is necessary to be strong, to hold out against everything, even if all the world would go against what we see to be the will of God. It requires a persevering force, against the wear and tear of time. And perseverance is above all a grace.

Virgin as strong as an army in battle, Faithful Virgin, grant us the grace of strength and perseverance; grant it to all those we love! Saint Joseph, Patron of the Universal Church, protect us..."

I agree with you entirely. The poisons you name, Americanism, materialism, debt, aversion to temporal suffering, laziness, selfishness, uncharitable attitudes, and feminism, are very much alive even within circles that call themselves traditional Catholic. Yet the question must be asked. Did these evils themselves come first and thereby weaken men, or did men first cease to fight, and as a consequence fall into them? In other words, are they the cause, or are they the product, of men abandoning the battle?
What's the norm in society (which today is beyond against the natural law and evil) will inevitably leak into Catholic spheres unless Catholics head for the hills and live together similar to the Amish. Not debatable. We are all guilty of keeping one foot in the world and one in the Church. You can have those who are strong in the charisma to outsiders, similar to a missionary and live in the world, but those types are a HUGE exception. As a collective, Catholics better start living together/suffering together in their own communities.

Today's topic is the recent passing of Thomas A. Nelson, the founder of TAN Books & Publishers. He was a pioneer of the Traditional Movement, which is still crucial for Catholics trying to keep the Faith during the current Crisis in the Church. We also discuss the Traditional Movement, keeping the Faith, etc.

This was a great episode, RIP, Thomas A. Nelson.  What an apostolate he began and kept up with all those years. “This is the Faith” was instrumental in my conversion to tradition, published by TAN.  Sounds like your uncle’s life centered completely on God and spreading the one, True Faith.  I will pray for his soul though he may be in heaven already.
